My servers greeted me and made me comfortable from the moment I sat down. I think our first server was Christian and his recommendation of the Lone Star Migas was spot on. I would return here and will tell others to do the same.

We loved our experience at Homestate! Christian greeted us at the counter & was so friendly. He recommended the Black Panther taco and I’m so glad we listened to him. The taco was the perfect size, delicious, and flavorful. We also got the ranch salad and it was very fresh. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the outside table vibes are fun. We recommend!

When this place opened it was awesome and I literally wanted it like everyday. Somewhere along the way the staff changed and therefore our experience changed. We noticed the main cashier and manager whom were a weekend staple when they opened were no longer there. These days the energy is subpar at best. Even on a slow Saturday early afternoon the staff could not muster up a resemblance of energy or happiness to greet their guests. Plenty of staff members standing around at what appeared to be a slow time of the day yet we were met with dirty tables. If you’ve ever been here they share a small parking lot with now 2 other businesses. I was disappointed to see (before these other businesses were open) that one of their Saturday managers had the audacity to occupy the limited parking spaces.

Don't waste your money! Canned black beans not even rinsed or doctored up, overpriced cafeteria food with employees that can't answer questions about the menu, or even get the order right. Great location, sad restaurant! Go across the street for some bomb pizza, cuz you already found a parking spot ??

The potatoes were overcooked, way too dark and if this is what passes for tacos in Texas I feel sorry for the residents of the Lone Star State. Both tacos we had were cold, mushy and flavorless. I couldn't even pick mine up because it was so damp. I could literally walk into any tortillaria in this state and get a better taco for $1.99.The staff was pleasant but it was odd to see 4 younger people doing all the customer facing work while one older woman was working in the kitchen all by herself. Not a great experience and I won't go back. It's unfortunate because all the other new businesses around there are doing such a great job.

This place is incredible! Best tacos I've ever had! Home made tortillas and queso! They also have humanely raised free range meat and eggs which I appreciated!

Awesome staff and incredible food! If you haven't checked out this place you need to. Great assortment of tacos and the handmade flour tortillas are to die for. My son said he would give it 100 stars if he could!!!

I was finally able to come and try this place. We took a little detour back home and decided to stop here and give it a try. We arrived just before lunch time. The place is nice and clean with lots of sitting space inside and outside. My husband and I decided to try a taco and some of their queso. So I had brisket taco with potatoes I think it's called the Tijuana panther and my husband had the ft.worth taco with chicken and we shared the queso with brisket. Their queso is delicious it had some guacamole, sour cream pico de gallo and of course some brisket and queso and comes with side of chips. For drinks I had the hibiscus limeade and my husband had a Coke Zero. Gilbert was very helpful and attentive with us.Being our first time here he helped us with our questions regarding the menu. He also let me have a sample of the spicy paloma frosty drink that they have. It was pretty delicious. I am so glad I was finally able to come and try this place.

Let's just start with the simple fact that the tacos are pretty dang good. I had the emo, brisket, and potato, none of which disappointed. HomeState is definitely part of the new wave of taco shops with more ingredients and more complex flavors than your standard street taco shop. Everything tasted fresh, with the flour tortillas being the standout part of my meal. My one bone to pick with this place is the price. I get quality ingredients cost a premium, but $6 for pretty small tacos is wild, even by today's standards. $4 would be more reasonable as it takes 3-4 to fill up an adult. Good place to check out? Absolutely. Good place to make your regular taco stop? Meh.

HomeState was a great restaurant! Wonderful service and delicious food. Our food came very quickly, there was no wait. We've been looking for a good TexMex restaurant, and this was a perfect. The service was excellent, very accommodating and generous. We had two Frito Pies in a Bag, one with black beans and the other with brisket chili; Cowboy Cup & Chips and the Lil Queso. All were fantastic and we're looking forward to coming back for breakfast tacos and migas another time. Will definitely go back!

Liv provided the most amazing customer service. Every time we come here she has a smile on her face and has patience as we decide on what we want to order. The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting with open seating inside and on the patio as well. From the tacos, to the nachos, to the frito pie in a bag, the food is delicious! Definitely a must try while in Oceanside! If I could rate more than 5 stars, I would.

We ended up here after having trouble getting seats for a table of 5 at the diners in the area. Turned out to be the perfect spot for a bunch of Texans living out of our home state (no pun intended). The tacos and fresh flour tortillas were fantastic, the coffee was perfect, the salsa, queso and crispy potatoes were amazing. It felt like we were having breakfast in Austin. The staff was kind and considerate and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this place!
