Delicious food. Great customer service. They also have Inca Kola Zero. The anticuchos we're sooooo delicious and juicy, the sauces , green and spicy also great. The Lomo saltado was juicy, and the ceviche perfect balance. Make sure to ask some lime for the pescado a lo macho, and some green sauce, goes well with it.

The food was delicious, although the meat was not that soft as I would have expected. But the flavor was super! The ceviche was absolutely great! The flavor, freshness, serving size, excellent! I recommend it, absolutely.

Great service, our waitress was Milena. She was great with us and our kiddos. Things came out timely and she cleared our items as needed and we didn't want for anything. Restaurant was clean and decor was nice. Would be a nice place to take your loved one. Huge plates and nice presentation. Our daughter chose lomo saltado. That's always her choice. It was prepared well. So grateful they got the flavor correct. Some places forget to allow a bit of jugo in the plate, this place didn't forget. It was yummy. However I've never seen crinkle cut fries in lomo before. Not a fan. And lomo is to be with beef tenderloin/filet and sadly so far no restaurants use the right cut of beef in their lomo saltado dish. For the price I was hoping it was beef tenderloin, some pieces were great, others were so chewy it wasn't edible. But they did get the flavors correct. For that I'm very pleased. We got chupe de camarones, not like they make where we lived in Peru but my Peruvian husband still enjoyed it. Peruvian food is like that, some Peruvians cook things a little different than others. Missed having the chunks of queso fresco and potatoes but was still a nice soup. My picky 7 yr old even drank the liquid of the soup. Special of the day was seco de res. Wow! So smooth the beef. Like butter. Frijoles and rice topped with with salsa criollo (red onion, lime) so good! Peruvian food cooked with respect. Thank you!!!!! Best was the yuca frita with Peruvian salsa verde, be sure to ask for their salsa verde. Wow!!!! So incredibly well made. Go just for this and you'll leave happy. But of course you'll want to try more than just this. But be sure to add this to whatever you order. Oh add salt. It's common that US Peruvian restaurants don't seem to use as much salt as in Peru. Trust us, yuca tastes better with salt. So add it. Homemade chica to drink. We got a whole jarra. So refreshing. It's Peruvian purple corn drink. So tasty. Daughter got Inca Kola. It's a Peruvian soda. Ppl say it tastes like bubble gum. If you've not had either before, I urge you to try both. So chica, Inca Kola, yuca frita. Add salt. Request green sauce. Then order what sounds good to you but don't leave without trying these I've mentioned. So impressed! We've ate at all of the chef's restaurants and he continues to improve and outdo himself. The yuca was perfectly cooked. The seco so soft and delish. Chica so refreshing. Thank you sir. You are THE Latin Chef.

5 stars for me is "I can't wait to go back". This restaurant is definitely that. It was Muy Delicioso. Flavorful, plentiful, very well seasoned, there is something for everyone here. All the plates we have seen out of the kitchen were looking awesome. Talking about the kitchen, when they say open flame on the menu they mean it :-) there are a LOT of flames, not for the show but for flavor. The pollo saltado was super tasty and vey well seasoned. The Pescado a lo Macho was so so good and a bounty of seafood. On a Friday lunch it was quite busy, and I totally understand why. I can't wait to go try other dishes :-)

I come to this mall often to pick up Maan's or boba, and didn't have any expectations when I stopped in for pick up. The employees were super friendly and helpful in giving me suggestions and I ended up ordering a ceviche and a fish dish. The food tasted fresh and totally worth the $, as my plate was filled with various seafood. The ceviche was filled with juicy large shrimp, octopus, fish, etc. I'm new to Latin cuisine but the second dish was like a Spanish paella with Asian style white rice. I'll be back for sure to try more.

My boyfriend and I used to live in San Diego and we’d go to the Latin Chef at Liberty Station all the time. He’s Peruvian and loves the Jalea at that location. When the added a restaurant to Oceanside we were thrilled! We ordered the Jalea, it was just as good as we remembered and we will by celebrating my birthday there again this week. YUM!

Tasty Peruvian spot with great service. Our favorites were the ceviche mixta, arroz con mariscos, lomo saltado (although there could have been a bit more beef) and tallarín verdes con pollo. Would come back again.

While waiting for my son to finish his School Volunteering, I searched for a place nearby for our Lunch. I was surprised to see a very familiar name on the list, a restaurant called "LATIN CHEF PERUVIAN CUSINE ". It's my favorite Peruvian place to go to at Liberty Station Point Loma . We drove right away to this new added location they have in OCEANSIDE. We got in right away the moment they opened the door. The first thing I asked the server was if Chef Tony was present in the Kitchen 'coz I like to order a lot when he is around 'coz the food will definitely be delicious when he is there! The server handed us the Menu but there was no need, we ordered right away 'coz we know Peruvian food, I'm a sucker for Peruvian food :) We ordered: *CEVICHE MIXTO *LOMO SALTADO *TALARIN SALTADO DE RES *JALEA - variety of Fried Seafood *TALARIN VERDES CON BISTEK My husband's favorite here is the Jalea, it's crispy and the seafood has a nice batter. My son's favorite is the Talarin Saltado and the Talarin Verde con Bistek. The bistek was soft and grilled nicely, and the Talarin Verde noodles were so flavorful. The Talarin Saltado has that good stir Fry aroma and the noodles are not soggy, well seasoned too. And my favorite, as always, is the Lomo saltado, it has simple meat with fries and rice, but I hope that the meats on the Lomo Saltado are more tender. We didn't get any Dessert because our Tummy was so packed already. When all the orders were sent out to the customers inside, Chef Tony finally got a chance to go out of the Kitchen and greet the customers. We like this added location of the Latin Chef, it's their own place, we like the one in Liberty Station too, but over there it's like a shared place with other vendors and shared tables, here it's their own space. Theres a lot of parking around . Looking forward to dining here again!

Ok, well I'm kind of in a quandary here. I love seeing new restaurants pop up and always want to support small businesses. I always try to give grace to places that recently open because sometimes it takes a while to get into your groove, you know? Latin Chef is a new Peruvian place that opened up. I was so glad to see it because I loved Panca and was sad to see that place close. Latin Chef has a ton of seafood options on the menu, which was great since my husband eats seafood mainly in restaurants. I asked for sparkling water with lemon. No dice. They only had regular water and if I wanted lemon in it, it would just be them squeezing some lemon juice in it. Odd, but uhhhh ok I guess? Maybe they are saving money and not giving lemons? Who knows. We had fried cassava which was very much like light crispy thick cut fries. Delicious! We also got the ceviche. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer smaller cuts on the fish in ceviche so that it's just lightly cooked through and rare. The chunks in the ceviche were so big that there were pieces in it that were almost completely raw. I like sushi... when I'm expecting it. I wasn't a fan, but maybe that is how it is in Peruvian food? Who knows. They had a dish that my husband wanted to try that had a creamy tomato sauce, but isn't so crazy about creams in sauces. They accommodated him by making it not creamy. Yay. He said it was delicious. I ordered fried chicken in noodles with a pesto type of sauce. This was not good. The chicken was pounded thin, but soooooo dry and overcooked. the noodles were also overcooked and almost soggy in so much sauce. Nope! Like I said, I like to give new restaurants a fair shake and hope that they improve. They have good reviews so far, so I'm hoping it was just a fluke that my food was so bad. I always like to see small businesses succeed, so I hope they see this and will take it as constructive from someone that wants to see them succeed! For my own personal note, please add Aji De Gallina to your menu!
