We've been going to San Luis Rey for years now. I came to check to see if they were open late afternoon today and noticed some lady who bought 200 cupcakes and apparently thought an order that size would be baked that morning. It's unrealistic for a little bakery like that. We have had nothing but good food and service there and we've been maybe 200 times now. I've been there so many times I left my credit card there by mistake maybe 3 times now and got it...
Was really excited to find this gem. I had a cinnamon roll, unfortunately was brought cold i had asked for it warmed. It was very dry. My girlfriend had an egg dish that had lots of flavor. Waitress was very sweet but had limited English. I will come back and try something different. They had live music, which was a nice surprise
Sigh...I have been coming to this place for 20+ years and in current time the bread no longer is the beat quality. Every time I go now the bread is hard and very hard to cut into pieces. Back in the day the bread would come out soft and fresh but now it's not that anymore. I only go there for the Mexican bread so I can't say about the other food they serve.
The staff there are always very nice, so it's not the environment that's lacking just the Mexican...
