I hate leaving terrible reviews but the so called owner Omar left a sour taste in my mouth when I left his establishment upset regarding my food, The bacon was old cold and greasy, my biscuits were not cooked thoroughly, the hashbrown insulted my intelligence and I asked for scrambled eggs with cheese in them and I received eggs with a cold slice of American cheese on top. So I asked to speak with the manager and a man appears with a baseball cap backwards saying his name is Omar, the manager/owner and he couldn't believe I had the audacity to be upset about the quality of the food that I received and then he tried to belittle me and ask am I a business owner as if I'm not important unless I own a business. If you are ever in Oceanside CA on a business trip, vacation or even a resident of California I would advise you to go with any other Breakfast spot than The Breakfast Mug.

Went in Sunday morning for the first time. We were seated quickly. Great breakfast menu! Had the Egg Avocado toast and a Denver omelette, both delicious. Especially liked the eggs on the Toast and the omelette wasn’t over loaded with cheese, and the vegetables weren’t over cooked and a good amount of ham and bacon. Will be back!
Portions were small, I couldn't believe it for a $17 plate.Music was explicit, really sad for the families with little ones.The service was good, I was glad about that.

Food was delicious. I had so much fun just spending time there because the atmosphere was so relaxing and so calm. I got a sandwich and my partner got the chilaquiles. The people serving us was super attentive and we got seated and attended very well.

Little hidden jewel in an unexpected location in Oceanside! Excellent, fresh, beautiful food, and great service. Really lovely little place.
We are visiting from Idaho and Utah, we have tried multiple places this week, and this is by far the best breakfast we had. We couldn't decide what we wanted, so we got their "Let's Mug it Up" plate. It feed both of us, and gave us a great sample of all their food. We are completely full, and the price was just right! If you are in Oceanside, I would recommend this place! It's soooo good!
Food was really good, their home style fries or potatoes are full of flavor, service was good, there is outdoor and indoor seating. Ambiance is a bit lacking because of location, but don't let that deter you from having great breakfast or brunch at this location.

Do I need to say more? Disgusting, gross bottles of condiments. Food is bland. Biscuits and gravy were flavorless. The portion sizes leave you walking out the door still hungry. The hash browns consisted of 5 bites.

The service was excellent, my husband ordered the meat's omelette and even though I tend to not be a fan of sausage, it was yummy! My daughter ordered the mexican eggs and it had pieces of serrano chile that made the breakfast plate 10x better. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was pretty solid, the size of the food was gigantic. Perfect for after a workout. Great dinner! My family and I will be coming back.
