Went here on a Saturday afternoon and there were no employees anywhere out front. They were all huddled in the back. After waiting for 5 minutes in an empty storefront, we just walked out. Pies looked tiny from the display (about 2" square if that) and $3 each. Was willing to try it if there had been employees out front instead of hanging out in the back.

I’m a San Diego local and thought it would be fun to stop in and get a pie. Me and 2 other groups waited outside for 5 minutes before I sent my husband to grab someone from the back to take our order. Three employees were back there just having a conversation, no regard for the customers that are waiting or the dirty table outside. We ordered one seasonal strawberry pie. It was not made fresh to order. It was soggy as if microwaved. Filling was cold on the inside. Shame since it’s literally the one thing they serve in the menu. Save your money and appetite and just don’t do it.

Don’t understand the low reviews. It’s a nice spot to swing by if you’re in the area. Definitely not a spot I would go out of my way to visit.
Prices aren’t bad. It’s $3 for a small pop tart and $3 for a cup of coffee. People pay way more at other tourist spots. Kids loved it. Get the apple pie.
Come and get some pies, a coffee and a display of Top Gun memorabilia with a dash of nostalgia.
Hot guys spiking volleyballs on the beach are not included.

Service was below average. Pies were not much more than bite size. House is cool but definitely would not recommend getting food just walk through and leave.

The oven was broken the day I visited, but the staff are very understanding to give me oven heating instructions, but even cold the hand pies are very good. Definitely will come again.

The pies are tasty, but they were out of everything but Cherry on a Saturday evening.
A little disappointing overall. The pies are like tiny pop tarts and we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our order of 3 pies. Reasonably tasty, but not equal to the hype. Skip the sauces, a little foil packet (containing about as much as a couple ketchup packets) is an extra $2.
The location in the Top Gun House is kind of interesting, but I wasn’t impressed by the pies.

Arrived at 11 when they open and the team member at the register stated “we aren’t doing pies right now.”
I asked if they would have pies later and they said “I don’t know. Maybe in an hour or two.”
The place is called High Pie. What a fail.
The building is kind of cool, but the food situation is a joke.

Waited in line for the shop to open at 11am. Got inside and we were told they won’t have pies for an hour and a half or two! What? You are a pie shop! Why did workers not get there in time to make the pies???? The girl working the counter had zero personality and could care less that business was just walking out the door. I just don’t understand. Would not go back. The pies were about 2x3” I wasn’t impressed enough to try again

Opens at 11am, but was told they had no pies for at least 30mins.. weird. And no bathroom to use, told to go to the restaurant across the street.

Can't really enjoy your food if you don't follow your business hours. I brought my entire extended family on Sunday evening about 7:40pm and the place was closed. Online hours and door hours show 8pm.

I would definitely passed on these pies. Ordered 3 different pies: apple, blueberry, seasonal. You can’t even taste any fruit from the pastry. All pies taste like the fryer oil.

Taste of the past. Apple pie is the best IMO. Great service, good pie, and a nice little flash back to the movie we all remember. If you're in the area stop by.

I have to eat gluten free so I was excited to come and try the pies. The people working let us know as we were starting to order that their oven had overheated so that the pies would not be warm coming out, that was disappointing as I don't know if I will make it back there. I enjoyed the apple one that I tried, but think it would have been better warm, it had much more filling than the strawberry rhubard. The 12 pack came with rewarming instructions, but they were not very helpful or accurate, they also don't give you specifics if you are heating up a single pie in the microwave(that one ended in disaster). My Mom also tried to call to give some feedback on inconsistency of filling etc. and there was no manager or anyone to give feedback to. Overall, I enjoyed the pies and the atmosphere. My family who does not need to eat gluten free were not that impressed with the pies :(
