Really bummed they did away with their menu option (they had it back in 2023) where you chose one of a few offered items for each course; it was a great way to offer their experience for people who have dietary considerations (e.g. don’t eat meat) or don’t want 8-10 courses. Really hope they bring it back. That said, if an 8-10 course tasting menu is your jam, you won’t be disappointed.

You really deserve to feel this way - from the first greeting, to the stunning sunset view, through countless courses (way more than the 8 specified on the menu) to the surprises and wow moments as the night crescendos with Valle's final treat - you'll be delighted, indulged and amazed at the scrumptious, unique, authentic flavors, impeccable service and stunning atmosphere. Yep - you deserve this, and so does Valle deserve it's star, perhaps even another.

Dietary restrictions: Staff were very pleasant and careful about my severe food allergy, modifying the fixed course menu and making my courses just as remarkable. Just advise the restaurant in advance so the chefs can prepare for you.

Parking: Free valet parking at hotel.

I've been to all 4 San Diego current Michelin star restaurants, including Addison and two nights ago Jeune et Jolie. This place is better than all the others in terms of food, service, atmosphere, etc. And that's coming from somebody who usually prefers french style over Mexican. It's innovative yet delicious. Try the Maggie magarita, it's the best I've had in the US or anywhere in Mexico.
Highly recommended. Truly deserving of a michelin star unlike some of the others in our area.

We went there tonight to celebrate a long overdue birthday! Our hopes was to meet up with the chef Roberto. We had met him and had a fabulous dinner at his restaurant Malva in Ensenada. Unfortunately he was not there but we sat at the bar and had the " perfect cheeseburger " and were delightfully taken care of with their superb bartender Deyvid.
Great evening! Hope to return.

I can’t speak for the experiences the people had who have given this place poor reviews, but I greatly enjoyed the place. The food and service were on par with other Michelin rated restaurants. I did a partial wine pairing and greatly enjoyed all of the wines. I would definitely recommend this place to others and will certainly be going back myself at some point.

After 12 years in San Diego, this is the best restaurant I’ve been to. At the level of best European restaurants. Don’t miss it if you can

Valle was our first Michellen dining experience and it was AMAZING. We had so much fun. The food, the drinks, the service was exceptional.
We spoke to Chef for ten minutes after dinner and his love for what he does was evident. He was personable and answered our quirky questions. I’m new to baking and he recommended a cook book, which was super kind. As a chicana, it was lovely to see and taste fine Mexican dining (only place I’ve had fine dining has been in Mexico City). I can go on forever about the different dishes, but it’s best if you go to Valle and try it out for yourself.

We were on the fence about Valle (given $), but are so glad we tried it. Valle is even more meaningful as it is in Oceanside. We’ve waked by Valle hundreds of times and always said “we should” and we finally did! We’ll be thinking of our experience there for a very long time.

Kwan- you’re awesome!

Chef Roberto Alcocer - Eres una inspiración. avanza. estaremos atentos para ver qué sigue. Cuídate a ti mismo, a tu familia y a tu equipo.

Stressful, way below average food, incredibly overpriced. Stressful because I had to battle traffic to get on time to our reservation under the threat of the loss of our table and 100.00 charge for each of us. No problem. I understand booking complexity, still we called for a small grace period which was declined. Anyway we arrived just on time to a restaurant 25% full. We forgot about the one hour traffic ordeal and the stress of possibly losing our table as we were beguiled by the architectural feat accomplished in the design, decor and seating. A beautiful setting. Incidentally, the restaurant never filled. Ridiculous to threaten us with the loss of our seats. The stress might have been worth it had the food been passable. It wasn't. I won't bore you with descriptions of the 6 course failure- many opportunities for at least one dish to stand out and none did. The service was impeccable, and a lot of effort obviously went into the arrangement and plating of the food, but it was really nothing more tasty than something I could grab off of a banquet plate at a chain hotel albiet more exotic. The wine pairing enhanced how bad it was because the wine was not good. And then came the bill. This is not the French Laundry but be prepared to spend the same amount of money.

It pains me to say this, but the experience was, to put it mildly, far from good—in fact, it was pathetic. But let’s start with the positives: the space is stunning—wonderful art, ambiance, music, well-managed noise levels, and great service. The mastery of food presentation was truly amazing. It was so promising when we sat down for our very expensive, Michelin-starred dinner. The amuse-bouches were the high point, and then it went downhill. Really downhill. I can’t recall a single dish; it’s all one big, same lime-flavored blur. The wine pairing made no sense. Twice, there was a port served in the middle of the dinner that was, at best, confusing. You can tell that great effort was put into the food garnish, but the substance was missing. Perhaps it was the chef's day or month off? Another sad thing to note is that there were hardly any people there—a sea of empty tables. Something strange is going on. I hope the chef returns, and people follow. Our town needs excellent restaurants, but this is not the one, especially for the money you are asked to pay.

Our second visit to Valle was just as memorable as the first! This time, we chose it for our anniversary, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. The tasting menu was outstanding, with only one dish repeating from our previous visit. Our server was impeccable, going above and beyond to make our evening extra special. We were seated on the patio, which was perfect, with the ocean just across the street. Yes, the restaurant is on the pricier side, but that's to be expected from a Michelin-starred establishment. In my opinion, it's well worth it. We'll definitely be returning!
