We loved our experience at The Oaks! The food was fresh and delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, peaceful and the service was warm and attentive. It was the perfect Ojai dining experience, we can't wait to return.
Went for my husband birthday! What a wonderful day, delicious food, great service and fun music! Can't wait to be back!
The service was wonderful and the ambiance is great. The food is good, but the portions have gotten smaller and very pricy. They need to change their menu. It has been the same for several years.
The staff was very helpful. The setting was beautiful and when I asked for our table to be in a different place we were accommodated graciously. We (7 of us) were celebrating my mom's 96th birthday and lunch was a very appropriate time and place. My only complaint is that the food - though very fresh - didn't have much flavor. It was cooked and presented beautifully but needed a little more seasoning and the salad didn't seem to have much dressing. I was glad to have lemon on my plate as both the fish and salad needed it. All and all, it was close to a perfect celebration.
The food was just ok but the service was great. We will be back. Hopefully the kitchen was just rusty from being closed for two weeks
We had such great time at this restaurant and such great service. The food and ambiance were also excellent. We did get appetizers and mains but were too full to look at dessert. Next time I'd also like to try their cocktails.
Really good and fresh food. They were busy and made the service slightly sub par. Ambiance is beautiful, the whole Ojai Valley Inn is a piece of heaven on earth.
We had a wonderful evening at The Oak. All the food was delicious and our server, Paul, was very attentive. All the serving staff were excellent. It was also a very dog friendly experience. We brought our 2 medium/large size dogs and they were well taken care of as well.
Went intentionally for the holiday season thinking they would have exceptionally nice decorations or something unique. The large Christmas tree was not even lit. The two options for seating, inside or outside, were both loud and clangy. Outside felt like a cafeteria, inside an echo chamber. The food was great, scallops especially. The drinks from the bar were special but the drinks you order while at the table seemed to be made by someone else entirely. Overall, just meh, especially for the lack of ambiance and price tag.
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Oak. Richard took care of us all evening. Greatly appreciate the service. Food was delicious. Between the two of us, we had persimmon on ghost cheese, tortilla soup, 8 oz filet mignon and scallops. Wonderful.

Food was a little underwhelming. Service was good but they made some mistakes which they apologized for. Mac and cheese was way too bland for our taste.

The food, the service and the setting were great. Just the noise level was up there. It was a Saturday night so I get it.
We loved the ambience and the food was great! Service was on point, too. 👍 The only negative thing I can comment on is the self parking issue...which there was no available parking. We had to turn our car over to valet. Next time we come back, we won't even bother with self parking. Valet had excellent service!!!!
Really enjoyed the blue grass brunch, both food and music as well as the bottomless mimosas 😁
We had Thanksgiving dinner. Buffets are always problematic, though at this price I expect the hot dishes to be hot. Service involved being served two bottles of wine and filling water glasses. Carrots were unevenly cooked, some mushy, some tough. Marinated pear slices were nice. Desserts tasted like yesterday's.
