I'm a British visitor to Ojai and have been to most of the restaurants in town over the years. Sage is a new one to me (it opened in February 2019); I was walking around town this evening, spotted it, and thought I'd give it a go (I'm obsessed with sage, so the name kind of pulled me in!) Sage has a section to please everyone, with a bakery in front, a big porch with yellow umbrellas in back and a charming and cozy bar/dining experience near the porch. Service can be pay in front then delivered at a table or waiter service for evenings and weekends. New in town and already packed.

We very much enjoyed our dinner, good food and creative drinks. I have seen several new reviews that complain about poor service. Please keep in mind that they have virtually been closed for months (mostly relying on takeout to survive) and employees have moved on, so they're basically starting from scratch. Give them time to get organized. That said, our service was great.
