Great atmosphere. Gets loud inside. Lots of nice outside seating. Lots of gluten free food
Tasty, healthy and excellent service
I visited Popping Yolk Cafe with a group of eight for a Mother’s Day brunch today, hoping for a great experience based on all the glowing reviews online. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the complete opposite.
First off, we waited over an hour and a half outside in the heat just to get in — not ideal for any restaurant, let alone one known for brunch. What made things even more unusual was that this is technically a sit-down restaurant, but you’re required to order and pay before being seated. That alone felt strange, especially since the girls at the cashier didn’t seem too interested in helping us figure out the menu or making any recommendations. But then again, what can you really expect from a bunch of young kids just clocking in for a shift?
To top it off, they ask for a tip before you’ve received any food or service. That felt off, especially considering how poor the service turned out to be. The staff seemed annoyed and overwhelmed — though to be fair, it was Mother’s Day and very hot, so maybe that played a role in their attitude.
As for the food, we ordered a lot given the size of our group, but everything was incredibly salty. The over-seasoning was way over the top, making it hard to enjoy much of anything.
On a positive note, the restrooms do have a really cool aesthetic.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Popping Yolk Cafe. Maybe it was just a bad day, but from the long wait, awkward ordering setup, lackluster service, and disappointing food, it’s not a place I’d return to or suggest to others.
We were looking forward to brunch here, we arrived 20 min before closing and they turned us away as they were trying to close
Always a great experience at Popping Yolk Ontario! I had the Hot Chicken Benedict and the Ube Pancake—both were absolutely delicious. The Hot Chicken Benedict had the perfect balance of crispy, spicy, and savory flavors, while the Ube Pancake was soft, slightly sweet, and packed with natural ube flavor. It looked amazing and tasted even better.
Service was also top-notch—friendly staff and quick, efficient service even during a busy weekend. The vibe is welcoming and well-organized, so even when it’s crowded, it never feels chaotic.
If you’re looking for a brunch spot that delivers both flavor and good vibes, Popping Yolk Ontario is a must-try!
I liked the vibe of the interior. However, the customer service was lacking. They need to smile and greet customers. The food was ok, nothing super special. I asked for scrambled eggs and it came basically like an omelet. The toffee waffle was good but overall pretty standard food for being so expensive.
Food was good but I don’t like that you have to pay ahead of eating. I like to figure out how good my server did before leaving tip. Next time I will leave no tip at the beginning and leave cash on the table depending on how they treat us. I got coffee and was never offered a refill. My wife wanted ranch so I went up to ask them for some because we sat outside and server was nowhere to be found. Overall the food is good and the location is nice. The girl who took our order was nice and very informal but once we got our food I feel like they ghosted us. I would return but I hope they will be more attentive next time.
Great spot! Delicious food and nice staff!
I will say that service can be a little slow, probably depending on the day but I’m not complaining since I love the food and vibes! Will definitely be back!
Huge portions with wonderful flavor and variety. Earl gray latte was soft and flavorful!
We didn't think so highly of this place because when I can make it at home quicker--we'll that would be the measuring stick. First of all, the 'country fried potatoes were not that: they were cut up French fries. The eggs I ordered, over medium was one cooked over hard and the other over medium even though I paid full price. For the amount of time they took, I could have also made the pancakes and served them hotter WITH BUTTER. Not impressed and just sticking to home because even on a lazy day--I can make it better and faster. Service...the staff was not even lukewarm or inviting. I tipped, but I tip best when a server welcomes as if I'm coming into their dining room. Meh...I can do without this place. Thanks!

Wife and I went and she ordered French toast and I got regular classic breakfast. They brought her French toast out 5 minutes before I got my breakfast. She was almost done before I even got mine. Also I wanted wheat toast and they only had white which was a half a pice of bread. You would think for $17.50 they could at least give you a whole piece of bread. Disappointed
The food was extremely good, the people were friendly, the place was clean and they gave lots of food... we couldn't eat it all but we wanted to
We love this place! The food is incredible! I highly recommend the ham and egg croissant sandwhich, the French toast with berries, and the bbq pork omelette! Just make sure you get here and put your name in first. The wait is around 20 mins each time I’ve gone so, love prepared for that. Worth it though!
Service can be slow. Food is ok. It’s the only other “cute” breakfast/brunch spot in Ontario ranch/eastvale so ambiance is a 5 star for sure. The French toast is too crunchy and most items on the menu taste the same. However, if u find yourself looking to meet up with a friend at a brunchy spot with good ambiance I would still reccomend.
30 minute wait time, but i would say its pretty worth it since its a more smaller cafe. food was good/came out pretty fast compared to when we ordered. longest thing to wait for i would say is just to get seated!
