Food was great. Portions were generous. Although table side service is not offered, staff were very attentive and accommodating. We went for brunch on a Saturday, there was a line to order, but it went by fast. We were a group of 7, a table was available when we ordered. Location in middle of housing is great for a walking distance visit

It’s our first time to eat here. We put our name on the wait list, waited for over 30 minutes and they never texted us so we checked to see what’s going on because the people behind us were getting in ahead of us until we were the only ones waiting so they just let us in. I sat down and one of the servers asked me to move because that table was reserved?! I don’t think it was reserved. We ordered our food for dine in and sat there for over 30 minutes and no one even check with us. They couldn’t find our order. Then they told us the computer put our order as “pick-up/to go”. Our food has been sitting there for a long time then they asked me if we still want to eat in or just take it to go. I do appreciate the manager coming out to apologize for all the mix up but unfortunately I was so disappointed and frustrated that it was hard to enjoy the food.

My family and I first time trying this place today which it was nice clean and cute breakfast brunch spot. The food was delicious we enjoyed it!! Only down side was the staff not welcoming seems like we bothered them when asking if it self seating or not , they said its self seating and order and pay at the register it was very awkward not a comfortable at all didnt come by if we needed more coffee if we were okay nothing and they charge a service fee ? Like what the heck for what service they didn't do anything .

This place is pretty small so it’s hard to find a table. You have to seat yourself, but you have to order first at the register. We paid $65 just for 2 people! Food was good but not worth $65. I literally could make what I ordered at home. A bacon & egg sandwich on a croissant. I only came here for my mom’s birthday. If I could pick I wouldn’t have picked here. Plus the worst thing was I feel like I couldn’t even enjoy myself with my family or enjoy my food because IT WAS EXTREMELY WARM INSIDE! It felt like they didn’t have the AC running or it was broken. I had to ask for ice water and dip napkins in it to dab all over my body. Thought I’d pass out. Everyone else was warm too and we had to rush ourselves to eat and leave. Not a fan of this place. Workers were nice.

I visited Popping Yolk Cafe with a group of eight for a Mother’s Day brunch today, hoping for a great experience based on all the glowing reviews online. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the complete opposite.

First off, we waited over an hour and a half outside in the heat just to get in — not ideal for any restaurant, let alone one known for brunch. What made things even more unusual was that this is technically a sit-down restaurant, but you’re required to order and pay before being seated. That alone felt strange, especially since the girls at the cashier didn’t seem too interested in helping us figure out the menu or making any recommendations. But then again, what can you really expect from a bunch of young kids just clocking in for a shift?

To top it off, they ask for a tip before you’ve received any food or service. That felt off, especially considering how poor the service turned out to be. The staff seemed annoyed and overwhelmed — though to be fair, it was Mother’s Day and very hot, so maybe that played a role in their attitude.

As for the food, we ordered a lot given the size of our group, but everything was incredibly salty. The over-seasoning was way over the top, making it hard to enjoy much of anything.

On a positive note, the restrooms do have a really cool aesthetic.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Popping Yolk Cafe. Maybe it was just a bad day, but from the long wait, awkward ordering setup, lackluster service, and disappointing food, it’s not a place I’d return to or suggest to others.

We were looking forward to brunch here, we arrived 20 min before closing and they turned us away as they were trying to close

Always a great experience at Popping Yolk Ontario! I had the Hot Chicken Benedict and the Ube Pancake—both were absolutely delicious. The Hot Chicken Benedict had the perfect balance of crispy, spicy, and savory flavors, while the Ube Pancake was soft, slightly sweet, and packed with natural ube flavor. It looked amazing and tasted even better.

Service was also top-notch—friendly staff and quick, efficient service even during a busy weekend. The vibe is welcoming and well-organized, so even when it’s crowded, it never feels chaotic.

If you’re looking for a brunch spot that delivers both flavor and good vibes, Popping Yolk Ontario is a must-try!

I liked the vibe of the interior. However, the customer service was lacking. They need to smile and greet customers. The food was ok, nothing super special. I asked for scrambled eggs and it came basically like an omelet. The toffee waffle was good but overall pretty standard food for being so expensive.

Food was good but I don’t like that you have to pay ahead of eating. I like to figure out how good my server did before leaving tip. Next time I will leave no tip at the beginning and leave cash on the table depending on how they treat us. I got coffee and was never offered a refill. My wife wanted ranch so I went up to ask them for some because we sat outside and server was nowhere to be found. Overall the food is good and the location is nice. The girl who took our order was nice and very informal but once we got our food I feel like they ghosted us. I would return but I hope they will be more attentive next time.

Great spot! Delicious food and nice staff!
I will say that service can be a little slow, probably depending on the day but I’m not complaining since I love the food and vibes! Will definitely be back!

Huge portions with wonderful flavor and variety. Earl gray latte was soft and flavorful!
