Roadtrip Bowls Made by Lazy Dog

Very disappointing forth and last visit today. Food below mediocre service below poor. Although I have to say how nice everyone was. Sadly just hapless and feckless. The first time I tried the place a couple of years ago I seated myself at the mostly empty bar, watched the barmaid walk back and forth for ten minutes doing nothing in particular until I asked her if I needed to do anything special to get a drink. She acted surprised but asked me what I wanted. I left. The next two visits were just mediocre but the third time we had waitress Lulu who was exceptional. I'm sure she's gone. Today the forth and last try was beyond disappointing. Again everyone was nice. Maybe that's all I should expect anymore. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken bowl. I asked our very nice waitress for it extra extra spicy (Kung Pao, right?). She dutifully entered the order. A nice young man brought it out with our other two orders, my wife's chicken Caesar salad which she ate but said it was like from a school cafeteria, and a grilled lemon chicken for my sister, who's birthday it was, which she ate half of and didn't comment on. But the experience with the Kung Pao was astonishing. It was obviously not only NOT extra extra hot it was ZERO hot. No heat. None. No dried red chiles like I might have expected, failing that, no crushed red chile like one might put on pizza, not even a little squirt of Sriracha. Nothing. I asked the nice young man about this and he said he didn't know what "red chiles" were because he was color blind. Hmm. But he said he'd check with the cooks. He came back out with a plate of cut up red bell peppers. Really. Obviously the kitchen doesn't know either. So I asked him for some soy sauce like one might put on a Asian dish and although confused by the request, trotted off to see what he could do. Came back with a half full small soup bowl of soy sauce. No spoon of course to put it on my dish. I don't think he had any idea what soy sauce was for. Then finally we were left sitting in front of a table full of dirty dishes for the next hour and a half until we gave up and left. True. Our waitress had closed our check an hour ago and gone home and I guess we were just on our own. Couldn't even get a water refill. Fortunately there's a Red Robin right across the parking lot and they've always been run competently so I guess that's what we'll do next time. It's an astonishing level of mediocrity and incompetence given your great location, terrific decor and apparently attractive menu. Check # 290018. I was left embarrassed after trying to do something nice for my sister's birthday.

The lazy dog restaurant is where people with dogs go out for lunch. Most people on the patio have a dog or dog’s under their table. We didn’t realize this on our visit and witnessed some aggressive dogs trying to attack other dogs. Hardly a relaxing lunch! The food was good as was the service. The edamame beans were excellent.

We ate here 2 times during our 4 day stay. Staff very helpful and friendly and the food choices and quality was excellent. Will definitely eat here again.

Food was not great. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was very pickle tasting and the beef dip was flavorless

The steak here is actually really good I didn’t think a chain restaurant could make such delicious pieces of rib eye but they do a fantastic job !

Great food and great service! They were very busy on a Friday night, but our waitress took great care of us. They have great burgers and a warm atmosphere. It was just a fluke that we found it, my wife did a Google search for nearby restaurants and found it. You know it's good food when it's packed with locals!

The food is really great and the service is unbeatable. Everyone is so friendly from the front desk to all the wait staff. We really enjoyed our meal and the prices are very reasonable. There was enough food that I had to take home a doggie bag (no pun intended). If you haven't been there you should put them on your list.

I was surprised by the menu. There was something for everyone in our big group. The restaurant was clean, wait staff very accommodating and friendly. Food was out quick. I would eat here again and recommend trying it for yourself

My sister took me out to lunch at the Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar in Orange and I really enjoyed the late lunch. Don't be fooled by the funky name of this place as it was busy and the food was really good. I had the BBQ Veggie Burger, which was a vegetarian sandwich. I am a meat eater, but I thought I would take a chance on something different. The sandwich filling was based on black beans, veggies, beets, garlic and a killer sauce. I could not finish the sandwich as it was quite large. Also, the beans made the sandwich a bit heavy. Great tasting food. I guess dogs are allowed as guests since i saw at least 3 dogs while dining. The next table had a Great Dane dining with the family of 4, but he was well mannered and did not cause any drama. Interesting place.

Four adults went for food and drinks. The food was great and the list of craft beer was superb. I had fettuccine alfredo and my wife had Chicken Parmesan. Both were fantastic. On weekends and special events I would recommend getting a reservation. Great service

Huge menu, lots of craft beers to try. Recommend the Ankle Buster Blonde!! Very light and Crisp! Chicken pot pie is big enough to share! Have a fried deviled egg too. Say hi to Shantelle, she is the best. We Were a large group and she was awesome!!
