I honestly don’t even want to leave a review because I’m afraid it’ll become hard to book this little gem of a place. This small hotel has a warm & cozy feel to it made even better by the absolutely delightful staff there. I had to book a room very last minute for almost a week, as my daughter was ill, and the staff was very accommodating to my needs. The room was incredibly cute and comfortable and the shower was absolutely lovely! The main house holds a very comfortable area to sit and work or relax with free snacks & drinks provided. That was an absolute treat in itself! While there I looked up the history to the place and was thrilled to learn of its interesting history and how they worked hard to keep a lot of the original architecture. Walking out of the hotel you immediately walk into a gorgeous area with lots of cute shops and wonderful places to eat. I loved it so much I didn’t want to leave lol but alas, my daughter got better and it was time to head home. We’ve already, however, booked the cottage for November and now I can’t wait to be back!
Nearby activities: Chapman University is within walking disrance. Lots of antique shops and other cute shops.
Safety: I felt very safe not only in the hotel but also walking around in the surrounding area, though of course I never let my guard down.
Walkability: Lovely place to spend plenty time walking. Walking to Chapman University is literally just maybe a 5 minute walk.
Food and drinks: Lots of great places to eat within very short walking distance.
Noteworthy details: Beautiful hotel with great staff!

When we step foot on the property we were in great hands - the setup team, folks in the office, and staff throughout the entire night took good care of us and felt supported to ensure our couple had an amazing wedding experience. They even gave my partner and I snack bags during the setup, which was very kind and thoughtful because as a vendor, we typically take care of everyone else. I wish every venue was this kind and helpful!

Awesome hotel! Our family stayed here on a family trip for Disneyland where we wanted to get some quiet time at night away from the parks. Great location about 15 minutes from the parks, plus Old Towne Orange seems like a neat neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. The Richland staff was super-nice and helpful. The room was wonderfully clean, amenities were solid and the beds were comfortable. Easy parking situation. Zero complaints. Would stay here again without question.

The Richland is such an Orange, CA GEM! I've photographed two weddings here, have more on the books and absolutely love how quaint this little venue is. The staff is always prompt, friendly and don't even get me started on how incredible the food is. I can't wait to be back for many more weddings!
Rooms: The rooms are all different sizes and decor. The ladies have a bridal suite, but the gents have to book a room in the hotel. I recommend the cottage or the attic room. The other rooms, while styled wonderfully are quite small making it very difficult to keep the space clean with a grooms party getting ready.
Walkability: Settled right outside of Old Towne Orange, there are a ton of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.
Food and drinks: The drinks and catering are superb. I haven't had a single thing here that was delicious. My husband and I have been wanting to go back for a midweek date at their bar/restaurant.
Noteworthy details: For a wedding venue, the getting ready space and group portrait options are limited due to the size and setup of the venue. I recommend this for smaller wedding parties or couple not looking for a ton of formal group portraits.
This place is amazing! I have stayed a couple of times now and I feel so at home and relaxed here. I have now stayed in The Cottage and in a King room. Both were perfect. They are decorated so nicely and everything is so fresh and clean. Perfect location as you can walk to Old Town Orange and enjoy all their cute little shops and a wide variety of restaurants. I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

At Orange downtown this is a small nice hotel. Attended a business meeting, the venue is suitable for small organizations and parties. Service is good but the number of restrooms are inadequate. Food served was fine with some dishes being good and others okay. At place parking is limited but plenty of free parking is available at many places in Orange downtown close by. Orange downtown is pretty safe for walking and has a decent number of restaurants and shopping options to explore making this place an ideal place to stay if visiting Orange.
