Always good quality and attentive service. This is a gem in Orinda where we already have several other pretty decent sushi places. Sake Blue replaced a previous sushi spot that was underwhelming, so we’re happy to have them!

Good food, great, friendly service. Going to a new restaurant with young kids can be a bit harrowing, you never k ow how kid friendly the atmosphere will be. The server could not have been nicer. Chicken Katsu was some of the crispiest I’ve had!

I took my 8yo son here recently and we both loved it. I enjoyed the sushi and he ate two large helpings of their salmon teriyaki. The owner was working as the waitress, it is a family business. Lovely new local business!
Even better than the reviews. Extremely fresh fish - best sushi takeout in the east bay! SO TASTY! And great, honest ownership who called to tell me they were out of one of the fish I ordered and when they’d be getting it fresh again. Many high end sushi restaurants in the east bay have just silently substituted lesser fish when that happens. Prices are reasonable too! So so pleased we have Sake Blue in Orinda and can’t wait to order again (yes… for the third time this week).

I love coming here, best fresh food and the wait time is less than 5 mins for food to be ready. Food is very satisfying and flavorful. Just try it out!

Pleasant & friendly service.
Food was great and fresh sashimi, the rolls are good.
The chicken karate are crispy, but brunt. A bit dark and dry.

This is the best sushi restaurant I have been to. Their fish is extremely fresh, tempura crisp and Not greasy or soggy, and the prices are commensurate. They are friendly, open, and welcoming. I have been there 5 times in the past week and will be going back today.

My parents have raved about this place for ages, so now that I’ve moved back to the area, I finally had to give it a try for lunch!
I ordered the lunch bento box ($22) to-go through their website. While online payment isn’t available yet, you can pay at pickup. The estimated wait time was 35 minutes, but my dad assured me they’d be quicker—closer to 15 minutes—and to my surprise, he was right! I waited in my car and got a text when my order was ready.
The lunch bento offers a great selection—you pick two items, and it comes with a salad, miso soup, and two pieces of gyoza. I went with the five-piece sashimi and beef teriyaki. The sashimi was the highlight—fresh and flavorful. The beef was tender, though the teriyaki sauce was a bit on the watery side (not overly sweet, which I appreciated). The miso soup, however, could use a little more miso paste for a richer taste.
Overall, a solid meal at a good price! Glad to have a quality sushi spot in Orinda.
