Fake Japanese food of the lowest quality. The rice is not Japanese. The tempura batter is not tempura batter. The Maguro does not look or taste like Maguro. Even the wasabi tastes "funny". The place definitely can use a fresh coat of paint and a lot of air freshening spray.

This is my go-to sushi place! The fish is consistently super fresh and they use real crab. I usually order takeout, but the times I've been in person to pickup and called to ask questions, staff have been very kind. We've tried a few other places in Walnut Creek, but we keep coming back here!

If you are in Lamorinda area and looking for a quick Sushi fix - Sushi island is the place to go. The people there are so friendly and nice - love going there just for their service. As for food - can’t go wrong or any items on the menu. Udon, Katsu, rolls and Sashimi are our favorites.

We both ordered the bento box lunch special. I had 2 orders of vegetable tempura and my wife had the gyoza and sashimi. They charged extra for the sashimi but it was a large serving, thick cut and deep red. I asked for more rice and they charged for it which I thought a bit unusual. Overall very good food at a reasonable price. We would go back.

There were a few things: Not enough sauce for the katsu and teriyaki, Seaweed salad was missing something as well. Also, inside the restaurant, had a weird smell, like they mopped the floor with dirty recycled water. Outdoor seating available&that was nice. Probably won’t choose to come again. Nice server.
