Owner Michael Karp and his awesome staff have created a tap room style bar & grill that really feels like a home away from home (think 'Cheers' - where everybody knows your name...). Staff and customers are friendly, drinks are stiff, beer list is 2nd to none in this area, and believe it or not, they've got a killer little wine list too. Doren Cab and Josie Rosé by the glass -- Get after it! The food is solid too. It's not super fancy but comfort food that hits the mark for simplicity and quality. If the weather is nice, they've got a killer patio with firepit and TVs showing the top games. If you find yourself in Orinda looking for a great restaurant and fun watering hole, look no further than Fourth Bore!

A group of colleagues and I chose The Fourth Bore for a recent luncheon. As there were five of us, we were seated at the large center table. It was a high table but had plenty of space.We started off with two of the Bavarian Pretzels with beer cheese. I ordered the Fish and Chips. I really enjoyed the batter. Rather than the traditional batter on the fish, these were crusted with panko or similar breading. Very good.Our server was attentive but not intrusive. It was a great meal and we all enjoyed our orders.If you're in the area, give The Fourth Bore a try. The next time I go, I'd like to give their extensive beer menu a try. Thumbs Up!

Food was amazing ! Drinks were amazing But service was beyond - we felt welcomed right away! All the servers & even kitchen staff was great & friendly! Everyone had a smile on their faces! We dropped in for lunch from a doctors appointment We will be back & highly recommend!! SAMMIE WAS AMAZING

The mango hard kombucha was my first and it was very interesting and refreshing. The pulled pork nachos and the fish and chips were standard fare. Unfortunately the meal stood out as the worst service I have experienced in many years. The initial waiter who took our order was very nice but after he left, another nearly cleared our plates before we finished and kept asking if we wanted to order anything else as if we were loitering. Yet another came by to press us to leave before another party would show up over an hour later. He literally SNATCHED the receipts away right after we signed five minutes later and took the remaining glasses away to make sure we left. There was plenty of seating, no one lining up at the door on a Wednesday afternoon. We felt like POC unwelcome in a white space, and they expected us to be apologetic even though we were paying customers. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but even if it was unconscious bias, it was terribly aggressive nonetheless. Beware!

My friend and I decided to grab a late lunch at Fourth Bore, it was about 2:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. We each ordered food and drinks and proceeded to chat and catch up. The server brought us our check before we asked for it, which happens, that's fine. It's a rainy afternoon so the outdoor area is not available but it's literally 4pm on a weekday afternoon so we didn't think anything of continuing to chat. Our server comes to us at 4:30 to tell us that they have a reservation for the table at 5:30 so they will need the table soon. There is literally an empty table for four next to us at that moment, both my friend and I were just shocked and puzzled. The waiter could not wait to grab the receipt from us after we signed it. If the place was packed or it was a weekend, I totally get needing to turnover tables, but it's Orinda on a Wednesday afternoon. Even in the unlikely event someone reserved a table for 2 at 5:30pm on a Wed AND it was full, at least offer a suggestion like moving to the bar! Just rude.

Two of us dropped in for lunch. It was a wee bit chilly so they organized a heater for our outdoor table. We ordered Brussels sprouts, wedge salad and patty melt with fries. The food came reasonably quickly and the service was attentive. No leftovers! Easy in and out for a lunch meeting.

Pleasant venue with outdoor tables and live music on the night we were there. Decent burgers, lots of beer choices and a solid aperol spritz for the non beer folks.
Food is still pretty good. Have eaten here many times. Good patio space. Sometimes they have live music.Service can be very poor when they get busy.

Saturday night was definitely all right! Our server, Angela, knocked it out of the park with excellent service. Our table of 5 enjoyed every morsel of wings, Brussels sprouts, Rueben sandwich, potato leek soup, beet salad, etc. We were serenaded with live music and the libations, especially the Manhattan, we're so tasty. A truly lovely evening on the patio! Will repeat.

A friend and I stopped in here for a drink. We got seats right at the bar but there is a gorgeous outdoor area I will have to check out next time. On top of a full bar there is also an extensive beer list that includes ciders! My favorite. Plus there were 2! I had options! Most bars don't serve ciders let alone multiple!

The food was delicious! My partner has the classic burger (short rib/chuck ) with cheese and fries , very tasty burger unlike the avg burgers we've had elsewhere which are fine. The service was good and friendly . I had the out of this world , shoot me to the moon fish tacos ! Tender , fresh cod in a light batter and a chipotle-aioli sauce with some fresh tomato salsa and cabbage . The tortilla was so soft and easy to bite into . Every bite pure delight ! The ambiance was hustling and we sat near the kitchen on a hi-top . Very comfortable and not very noisy at all . Definitely recommend it when you're in the Orinda Square area .
