Serika Sushi Restaurant, located in Orinda’s theater square, has changed a lot since new owners took over a couple of years ago. The change is a 180 degree positive shift. Food is delicious and super fresh. Presentation is artful and appealing. Service is wonderfully attentive. The restaurant is a go‑to spot for families who love sashimi and noodles. The fish is really fresh and delicious. Workers and owners are kind and friendly. The ambience is lovely on nights with live music in the plaza alley next door. The place is an amazing evening for all, no matter what you order. Dogs are welcome outside, and service is quick even when busy. A special roll called the Mamenori, with Salmon and Mango inside, and Himachi and avacado on top, was loved. A custom Handroll inspired by spicy tuna and seaweed salad with shrimp and collar was crazy good, and the crispy snap of the wrap was great. The quality food is worth well beyond the midrange pricing. A truly under‑rated gem of a sushi option for the East Bay, deserving more support and recognition.
