“Have been to prior gold country steakhouse and safire about 8 times. The food has been consistently delicious, professionally spiced, well portioned, and presented with pleasing symmetry. Wife's alcoholic drinks were well proportioned. The blackened shrimp appetizer was an example of some creative cuisine that is rare around here. It's a joy to be able to eat and converse for 2 hours without suffering hearing loss from the oenophilec screaming, blessing many other chico acoustically challenged restaurants. You can actually chat here to your heart's content. Never any pressure by the wait staff to shove off. Servers, assistants, hosts all welcoming, efficient and helpful with ordering what's really good. Our waiter suggested pork loin with a sauce that was savory and sweet, reminiscent of hoi sin sauce. All in all, another lovely eating experience at safire.“

“We love the lower calorie options that taste great. The ribeye was fabulous. I had a unique drink. The parking lot was dirty with an abandoned junk car. A homeless man was allowed to lay on the bench going into the restaurant.

“This is a nice place to get away and relax. Nice pool area and hot tub. The staff is always friendly and more than willing to help and answer any questions. The environment is relaxing with the nice setting in the lobby. The rooms are nice and clean and spacious. Love the showers, wish the bathtubs were a little bigger.“
