“I had a lovely meal at the bar. I kept it simple and just had the seafood chowder, which was delicious. The bar was fully packed and the restaurant was busy too, but the bartender did a great job keeping up with everyone. The wine list was great, too!“
“Tonight was Geezer Gig night, and the places was hopping, lots of locals and newbies alike. Awesome atmosphere, funky and cool with great live music. The food is high quality pub cuisine, and went enjoyed everything we've had so far(the artochoke spinach dip was my fav).I am definitely coming back soon.“
“Food is always good, always consistent so you know what you're getting every time... the staff is great. Parking can be hard to find at times when its super busy but never more then a couple minute walk.. my family has been coming here for over 20 years. It's a must try!P.S. you don't have to make a trip to the ocean to get great fish and chips!!!“
“I was dying for a steak while working up in Grass Valley. I asked Siri to find me the closest steakhouse, and The Willow was definitely the closest. I read a few of the reviews and I would agree with many of them. First of all, Tyler appears to run a tight ship and customer service is A plus! On Friday and Saturday night they serve ribeye but the cuts were 14 ounces and I was looking for 6 to 8 ounces, so I went with the New York. I asked for medium rare on the medium side. The waitress commented I fully understand that and delivered a perfectly cooked and seasoned New York strip. Salad, barbecued beans and garlic bread come standard with the steak and that's how I placed my order. They make several of their salad dressings in the house and I chose the blue cheese. It was very good but with the amount of iceberg lettuce that was "the salad", I would've liked a little more. The barbecue beans were OK, nothing special. One of the remarkable things I experienced, was when asking about a couple of their Zinfandel's that were on the menu compared to the Rodney Strong Cabernet, Tyler brought me three tastings of all three wines to make a choice. I find this to be exceptional service typically not found at some of the highest end steakhouses. Bottom line is if you're in the Grass Valley, Nevada City area and would like a reasonably priced steak at one of the local restaurants with a wonderful history, I certainly would direct you to The Willo! Enjoy.“
“Perfect little place to stop for lunch! The food was super very tasty and quick and attentive service! The atmosphere was super quaint but custom! Both my husbands burger and my blt were great! We also enjoyed bringing our baby in and the staff was very accommodating and sweet it's not easy with a new baby!“
“The Stone House has become our favorite downtown location for a special dinner or casual drinks and superb bites. We went for Happy Hour this time and marveled at the quality and quantity of yummy large grilled shrimp, white pizza and smashed potatoes in our orders. Service was exceptional, our food arrived promptly and as ordered even though it was a busy Friday night. Of course, their creative cocktails never disappoint. Not only are the bar, lounge and restaurant beautifully styled and appointed, even the bathrooms are gorgeous! Everything at the Stone House is top notch and staff is extremely professional, friendly and helpful. It really feels like a highly rated San Francisco restaurant without the crowds and high prices....right down to the quality Heath plates, cotton napkins and hefty silverware. We also especially enjoyed the background music. It was early in the evening and the music set just the right mood at a perfect volume, something we rarely experience these days. Thank you for being here, Stone House. The locals truly appreciate you and all you share with us.“
“Lovely service and great food. My friend got a tomato basil soup with pesto bread that came with sprouts & said it was delicious. I got the Asian chicken salad and it did not disappoint. A plus is that the coffee is also worthwhile of going out of your way :)“
“They added extra pool table and did their floors! I love all the old tools on the wall! They still have a piano, ping long table, and some games to play. Our kids always love it here! There is a music box and kids like that too. No kids menu though...but we usually just get fries and cheese sticks for them or share our food.Taco Tuesdays are great! Soups are always good. Hamburgers and sandwiches are bit pricey so my husband and I usually share one. Cobb salad is great! Artentive awesome customer care, can't complain! Love the ladies who hold down the fort!“
“Lunch today was DJ's Spicy Chicken Salad for me and the day's special burger with garlic parmesan fries for my spouse. Lunch was good and so was the service. I got a side salad with my sandwich. I'm always surprised by how good the side salads are. I could only eat half of the sandwich, but my husband devoured his entire meal and had a Belching Beaver IPA with it. I recommend this spot, especially if you're looking for interesting beer and tasty food. They have covered outdoor seating, but we opted to sit inside today.“
“Wow as a chef I will say the food is great the guy really knows his food. I saw some people complain about small stuff like the bathroom not being updated its not about a fancy restroom it's all about the food and they do a great job. It took us a while to get food but it is fine dinning so don't expect it to be quick the steaks a thick also so it's not like cooking a buger so please be patient and have a drink and injoy.“
