“This place makes the best ice cream in the world. My daughter used to work there so we would get to taste what she brought home. Amazing flavors you can't find anywhere else. What they don't make upstairs, they purchase locally. There's vegan and sorbet available as well. The sorbet is our favorite. The in house waffle cones perfume the building.“

“You want to eat here! ?Delightful vegan & vegetarian selection! Fantastic service! A little bit of a wait but we'll worth it. I even had a mix up about vegan cheese and they remade my meal ? #GOAT ?Vegetarian options: Make sure you specify if you want VEGAN items, but this is the place to get all the vegetarian/vegan delights! I highly recommend the No Chicken Pesto Wrap, the Hawaiian Hula Smoothie, or the Yummy Chocolate Hempsicle Smoothie. And anything with their Green Goddess Dressing - It's amazing ?“

“This cozy space is inclusive and has the most beautifully presented food. I got the Avocado toast on gluten-free bread and it was awesome! The staff is extremely friendly and customise your order to perfection.Vegetarian options: They customize their offerings the way you want it.Dietary restrictions: They customize for allergies and vegan and gluten-free diets. The presentation does not suffer due to what one orders.“

“Best fish and chips in town. The last time I was there the service was awful and they really were not that busy which bums me out because I have been a patron of the horse since Ray was the owner way back in the day. My parents used to ride their Harleys there with their friends and I kissed my son's father for the very first time in there... So I HATE saying anything even close to not excellent about them. I will chalk it up to having a bad day and hope it never happens again. ??Fingers crossed there is nowhere to pick my fave dish which is the fish n chips! YUMMMM“

“Food was amazing, chef Garrett is 5 star talented, even came to our table. He really knows flavor, sauces and how to balance it all with outstanding, fresh, ingredients. I started with asparagus and cashew cream soup which tasted clean and creamy with shaved strips of asparagus and small bits of cashews. My husband ordered the Lemon Thyme Spaetzle (German pasta) for his appetizer and we were blown away by the savory flavor of this dish, unexpectedly over-the-top good. Had brown butter, super fresh Black Trumpet mushrooms that were foraged and Fed Exed to the chef from the Mendocino coast, and a cheese crisp of Parmeson on top. (I would come back just for this dish, order 2 helpings with a glass of wine, and I'm set.) My entrée- the seared scallops, were cooked perfect, with flavor that satisfied a multitude of ecstatic taste buds, balanced by the gentler flavors of the cauliflower puree and parsley cream. My husband had the Buttermilk fried chicken with spicy dipping sauce and found it tenderly cooked with a light, almost tempura like crust. Service from Aaron was great as he exuded enthusiasm and kindness, all while hustling to serve 7 tables. As for the restaurant ambiance, this is where I think it could be elevated to the level of the food if there was better indirect lighting. The old brick and stone architecture is special and should be highlighted with warm spot lighting so the central chandeliers and bar pendants can be turned down. They were a bit glaring and made the large space feel more 'empty' rather than warm.“

“Lovely service and great food. My friend got a tomato basil soup with pesto bread that came with sprouts & said it was delicious. I got the Asian chicken salad and it did not disappoint. A plus is that the coffee is also worthwhile of going out of your way :)“

“This is a classic old timey Asian restaurant in a classic old timey location. At 5:30 we had the place to ourselves and were served promptly. The service was excellent as was the food. They do a lot of take out so don't get discouraged if the lobby is jammed. We got the classic dinner for two and it was just that. The soup and spring rolls were excellent. We ate heartily but still could not finish the main plates. It was about half the price of other "sit down" dining options.“

“This was an unexpected stop, and found this place by accident, we were starving, and trying to find a different restuarant, and decided to just stop and eat here. We were not disappointed!!! The food was excellent!!!! The pizza, and sandwich we ordered were outstanding, made fresh, but it took maybe 15 minutes, even though there were 2 customers ahead of us, it was very fast service, next time you are in the area, this is a definite must stop and eat place!!!“

“Great vibe, outstanding food. We ate outside and enjoyed the music coming out of Crazy Horse across the street. Their forever young sandwich was impressive. They describe it as a gourmet pb&j and they were correct. One thing is parking is challenging if it's busy.“

“Having been to the old Sushi in the Raw a gajillion times, I was apprehensive that nothing could live up to the place Susan and Ru had created. I do think no sushi restaurant can replace it, but the new Sushi in the Raw did pretty good. I was legitimately fearful after reading reviews: tiny portions, shmucky arrogant staff and a crappy decor. Well, thank goodness some Yelpers are wrong. A new bigger space with some personality welcomes you when you arrive. The portions are ample and we didn't even get sushi but left so full! We had a delightful hostess and an even friendlier waitress. The inside is thoughtfully decorated with random Japanese items and the huge windows give great light. It was packed when we left at 7pm-ish. The new owners will obviously never replace what Susan and Ru brought to Nevada City but they sure are killing it as a bigger and new local restaurant. Absolutely we will return.“
