Have been to prior gold country steakhouse and safire about 8 times. The food has been consistently delicious, professionally spiced, well portioned, and presented with pleasing symmetry. Wife's alcoholic drinks were well proportioned. The blackened shrimp appetizer was an example of some creative cuisine that is rare around here. It's a joy to be able to eat and converse for 2 hours without suffering hearing loss from the oenophilec screaming, blessing many other chico acoustically challenged restaurants. You can actually chat here to your heart's content. Never any pressure by the wait staff to shove off. Servers, assistants, hosts all welcoming, efficient and helpful with ordering what's really good. Our waiter suggested pork loin with a sauce that was savory and sweet, reminiscent of hoi sin sauce. All in all, another lovely eating experience at safire.

The food and service was great, altho the sun blind kinda made the window seating pointless and kinda ruined the ambience a bit, the food is a tad overpriced imo for most of the menu but still worth trying once atleast.

The kitchen fryer's oil should be changed at least once a week.
Based on the dark, burnt look and taste of the butterfly shrimp I had the displeasure of eating twice in one month, I would bet that fryer oil is at least one month old. Not good.
Also had a salmon dish there and sent it back because it was warm but raw. Same with the second try, I came back about 10% better but not cooked as requested. I have had the Fila mignon a couple of times in the past and that was spot on. I don't know what's going on in the kitchen but the management needs to correct these flaws. Even the patrons leaving after eating there advised me that the food was terrible as I was entering Safire Lounge.

We really enjoyed our Dinner...I had the Cedar wrapped Salmon . The presentation was amazing and so good. My husband had Trii Tip and Shrimp pasta again presented beautifully.We shared the Clam Chowder so delicious. We had a Wonderful Meal.Waitress was Amazingly attentive just perfect.

First two table preferred were filthy. Black plates on table were dirty table clothes weren't pressed, and when seated the floor needed to be vacuumed. The host kept talking about husband and his surgery when I with most of the guest were coming and going. I thought that was very unprofessional. My food had no salt.I ordered pasta. The New York strip was good. Calamari tender but full of grease at bottom and breading was breaking away. I returned pasta and dessert menu was not even offered. Owen was the server his look worked for place but other than that horrible service. Ended up at Game Tyme with pastrami sandwich which was excellent and Evangelina had the best service every time. Service always superb!!!!!!

We arrived early for our reservation, but we're seated right away. The service excellent, our server was great had a good sense of humor. Ever staff member made sure that we had everything. The food was presented nicely and was hot when arrived at our table, the flavor was prefect. Steaks were as ordered, with juices. I will certainly come back, to try some of the other item on the menu that sounded delicious. Great job Safire.

My first time at Saffire, I figured I'm taking a big chance ordering calamari appetizer in a small inland rural town. What a surprise to admit that these were some of the best calamari I've ever had. I prefer rings and tentacles over steaks, and these small rings and large tentacles were tender beyond compare. The tempura was delicate and crumbly. It was absolutely delicious. I sat at the bar where the bartender, Owen, was attentive without being intrusive and helpful in answering any questions I had. The menu surprised me when I opened it. It lit up, making reading it super easy. I actually returned yesterday evening to enjoy another calamari appetizer. I hear their crab cakes are
divine also. The hours are odd, closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but good to know. I also enjoyed the Beet Salad, which was one of their specials yesterday.

Beautiful restaurant with great food. Servers are kind and diligent in ensuring that diners have the best experience they can. I was very happy to see the Early Dining options available, it is a great bargain and the meals available all sounded absolutely delicious.

Had reservations for our 28 yr anniversary, we were sat by the kitchen doors. Drinks took 45 min to get. Over an hour to get food. I'm a vegetarian and asked for no bacon on salad...it was loaded with bacon. When food finally came, mashed potatoes were cold. It was so ridiculous, it was comical. A lot of waiting. Also, with sitting near kitchen doors we also got to see and hear the complaining of hostess, manager, and servers repeatedly. You know what we didn't have to wait for?? Our check. Ugh. We won't be back.

The food selection was mixed, and it didn't make sense for Sunday brunch, especially for Easter. There was no mention of the food service being buffet on the website or OpenTable. We reserved and went based on the Sunday brunch menu online. The food was too safe on flavor, not enough. Some food was lukewarm and soggy veggies. The au gratin potatoes were over cooked and too cheesy. I will say the wait staff were great and tagged teamed with each other very well. I did observe food line confusion between the two short order cooks. The younger of the two was outspoken and needed more of a language and social filter. Will go again but will call ahead to confirm food service.

Our experience was fantastic. Food was excellent. Our waiter, Angus, is the best. He made the dining experience extra memorable.

We were here on a super quiet Saturday night. Our server was very attentive and very funny. Food came out quick and delicious. Must try the raspberry lemon drop. Steak was cooked perfectly and my grandfather could not stop talking about the special- Osso Buco....Yum!!!!!!! Pice also was decent and not over the top.

The food was great! I liked my chilled salad bowl and you could cut the filet with a fork. The service was excellent! And I was happy my water was always being filled. We will be back again.

My filet was delicious even though it was a little done for medium. I would order med rare next time. The service was exceptional. I received a complementary dessert since I had the issue with my filet. My husband had the pork chop and it was very good. Overall a great experience.

Even with the busy night (valentines day) the staff was pleasant and joyful. The wait for the food was a little long but within reason with how full the restaurant was. I recommend this for a nice date night or a evening out with friends.
