waited so long I got my money back they hadn't even started my food after 30 min negative stars
Don’t believe a lot of the negative reviews about this place, would you really trust a reviewer that only has 1-5 reviews and their review being how horrible this place is? Most likely a fake email being used to slander this place, I think so.I love this restaurant and have been going here since it’s been opened and I always enjoy their food. They are an extension of a chain of El Tapatio Restaurants in Ventura County. My first loved restaurant was the one in Moorpark while I was studying at Moorpark College, similar great food. There are more scattered throughout Oxnard but this one is the most convenient for my Wife and I.The burritos here are portioned well and are enough for big appetite eaters. I asked the Chef if he would make custom XXL burritos like the BurritoZilla from Iguanas (San Jose, CA) and he said they are able to do so too.I always like to get their burritos and quesadillas (asada, carnitas, pollo, or al pastor). All I can say when eating here would be how satisfied I am and that the nice staff, especially the Cool Chef Brother there. I also mention that they are doing a great job and I always am grateful with tipping them for their exceptional service. Thanks again, and don’t believe the haters that gave this place low ratings. ???????
For the first few times I went, they did a fairly good job. Food was the quality I expected, order was prepared and done the way I asked for (no salsa or cheese on my tacos is my usual)However, recently they have not been so keen on the "following order instructions" part.I ordered my usual taco order. however they did not listen to the instructions of "no salsa or cheese". Or my most recent order with my asada fries they included everything else but the things I actually wanted included. It wouldn't be that bad, unfortunately the quality of the food was a steep drop in quality. Meat tasted undercooked, beans almost felt raw to the point were it was like eating peanuts. toppings like onion and cilantro tasted out of date; onions were gooey and cilantro smelled and tasted rancid. The other locations across oxnard are much more up to snuff on what is expected. This particular location is like a shameful rip off (even though they are part of the same chain)
My husband and I shared a carne asada burrito. It was delicious! Their asada isn't dry and chewy like most asada. We will go back and order the same thing when we are in the area again. My husband also liked their spicy salsa.
Never going again just sat waiting for food and overheard cook tell his coworker that he f’d up an order in Spanish and he told her to look and they both laughed AND HE STILL PACKED THE ORDER. Was not mine was the person before but couldn’t even eat because I was uncomfortable eating the food knowing the cook was messing up others orders. I always go to the other locations and the food is amazing but never coming to this one again sorry.
Always closed! They say they're open online but it's a lie. Always closed at the one at the collection, I don't like to leave reviews at all but, this is literally my 4th time coming, once at night and the rest during lunch hour. Same result- closed
I’ve been coming to this place for over a year and I’ve had good experiences. I always order the Wet Burrito. Over all amazing!! The cashier is also really friendly! Great customer service!!
Not recommend at all if you like Mexican food!!!!! This is my second time going and nope never again
They send my order wrong the burrito has to much salt and they send me tong tacos no tripa tacos
I’m not sure what happened but this is DEFINITELY not the same restaurant. They basically KNEW that their fridge broke and they’re sending food out this way. The two salsas I got were so RANCID they burned my tongue. There was also a hair inside my food. This is disgusting to say the least. They felt bad and asked for forgiveness and free food but I threw it all away because I don’t want to get sick. The burrito was dripping so much oil it soaked the container. I am not a Complainer, but I do believe in getting quality food when paying this much money. $29 I spent through DoorDash and I only got back $22. I cannot give them another chance because anyone who is willingly serving rancid food on purpose just because times are tough don’t deserve my loyalty. I’m done with this restaurant for good. ??? I better not get sick!!!!!!

The food was so bad. I ended up going to Taco Bell. I ordered the taquitos. They were burnt and the meat was burnt. I would not serve customers the food they made us. The beans tasted oily and no flavor. We waited 40 mins to get a burrito and 3 taquitos. If they reach out. Don’t even offer me free food. It’s not even worth it. I don’t eat out often and when I spend $40 on food. At least be decent. I’m more upset that whoever made the food thought this was ok to serve.
This is the worst place to eat Mexican food in Oxnard period. I got sick after eating here. Disgusting.
If you are curious about this restaurant, please do not waste your time or money. It was soooooo bad. We went there on a Saturday night, no line. I should go have known right there.. we ordered taquitos and a 32 oz michelada for myself and my husband. Bad idea. it was dripping, DRIPPING with Tapitito and Tahini. It took about 30 napkins just to make sure it would not slip between my fingers. And the taquitos, well not really sure what meat they used. Not crispy, not delicious. Its obvious the cook and the server did not enjoy their work..they looked like they wanted to be anywhere but there. It was so obvious.
Something has changed here, but times are tough. The last time I ordered nachos, the cheese had burnt to the styrofoam tray so when I picked up the chip the whole tray came with it. I can’t imagine what kind of toxins were released as the nachos are microwaved. Overall, tasty but you begin to question the quality.Kudos to the other review calling out the microwaved food note—it’s true, that thing gets used quite a bit. At least they’re transparent, who knows what goes on behind most closed-door kitchens. You’d be surprised how many sit down places are using a microwave, too!
Food is expensive for what you get. Food didn't taste all that great, I would never eat here again. Worst of all it made us sick.
