My wife had been here before and insisted we stop by during our recent visit to PG. I was not that excited to make the trek there and I did not look forward to patronizing this bakery. We got there a little late, around 10am and they were out of a few things, but standing in the short line and chatting with the other customers was delightful. As far as the baked goods? They are very good and the chocolate eclair? The eclair is almost life changing. :-) Hands down, the best eclair...
We were excited to try this place and figured the line out the door was a good sign. We got a cookie and a scone. The scone was very dry and disappointing. The cookie was fine. Maybe the bread is better.
Loved the sweet pastries. Tried the savory farmers breakfast brotchen. It’s just an egg baked into the bun… not much flavor honestly. Partner and I were impressed by their sweets though. The pastry bread was more firm than your typical ones but not in a bad way. I hadn’t tried something like this yet. They’ve got great crunch if you like that. Don’t expect soft and fluffy except for the cinnamon bun.
