We had wanted to go back to Honeymoon cafe but they were closed, so we walked to Penny's instead. Food is akin to Denny's. Basic American comfort food.

coffee kept flowing, omelet was cold, french toast nothing special but at least warm enough to melt butter. Nothing really to motivate me to make a soecial trip. I'll take the breakfast at my golf club!

Ambiance was good. Food was okay. Hashbrowns overcooked and tastes burnt. Maybe we caught the kitchen on a bad day. Well

Excellent breakfast spot in downtown Pismo Beach! Got the lobster and shrimp omelette with hash browns, it was very good!

If you are hungry for bacon, eggs, and hash browns I guess this the place to go. Super small seating area. People line up outside, cannot understand why. Friendly staff. Food is ok. Won’t be going back.

Fast service…friendly staff and delicious food makes Penny’s our daily breakfast stop on our yearly Pismo vacation. I usually have the Pismo Pier Omelet but this year they had a spicy sausage patty that I teamed with a biscuit and gravy DELICIOUS! Others in our group had the strawberry waffles which are light and fluffy and overflowing with beautiful strawberries and topped with whipped cream. WOW! Penny’s is not a large establishment so there may be a line but it is well worth the wait.

We try and eat at Penny’s at least 4 times per month. The food is really good and generous portions. The service is awesome and Ashley is a great asset to this place. She is sweet and a very good server. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Good amount of food for the price. Ambience decent for a medium sized establishment.. Walkable from the pismo beach pier.

Stopped for lunch and had a shrimp salad. Shrimp was not fresh, smelled fishy and it should not have been served. My partner also had a salad and his was not much better. Maybe the breakfast is better but avoid the salads.

Excellent home cooked breakfast place. The verde pork chili is worth the visit. It is quick and ingredients are fresh. Worth it and dog friendly.

I was a bit disappointed given all the reviews. Maybe i just ordered the wrong thing, but I would expect consistency across all items. I ordered the waffles with bacon and eggs. The waffles were quite dense. A waffle should be light and airy. The scrambled eggs were kind of dry and tasteless. And i did not know that you could get bacon ....that did not taste like bacon. It had the crunch and look of bacon but no flavor. My wife had an omelet which she said was ok, but not as good as most restaurants.

We were taking our family of four out for breakfast in Pismo. We had heard great things about it, so we stopped by. It is perfect for a family with young kids - you don’t mind being a little noisy, food is good and plentiful. The service was good, just a tiny touch slow and there was a long wait - still worth a robust four stars, however. If there were 4.5 stars, I would give it happily.

Found this place on tripadvisor and did not disappoint! We both had the french toast with poached eggs and bacon, was very tasty. Big portion and lovely to sit outside. Can defenitely recommend.

The chili verde was outstanding. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered a bowl to go. Loved the home fries. My fried egg was cooked the way I like it, and the coffee was good. My breakfast partner enjoyed her omelet and said her biscuit was good (the biscuit was large!). Also, the staff was friendly. We definitely plan on returning to Penny's.
