The food was okay, nothing extraordinary. It was a hot day and the place could be cooler. Service was quick as there were only 2 other tables. We were there for lunch.

Dined at the basil, three weeks ago. When we arrived the table they gave us was within a foot of the barstools. Seeing that there was very little room for people to walk by to get to the restroom, we asked if we could have a different table. Only one or two tables were sitting in the restaurant at that time. The waiter said he would have to check. You could tell that they were bothered by it. When he came back, he offered one table only that we could move to. We dismissed this, thinking that maybe they had several pending reservations. Needless to say, the restaurant stayed empty the entire time we were there. Now let’s talk about the food. I ordered a ginger chicken dish. The chicken literally was like leather. Dominated flavor of ginger was all I tasted, I love ginger, however, complementing flavors would have been nice. Left almost the entire dish. But the primary reason I will not return is the long history of the horrific odor outside the restaurant. I have only been here one other time and it was about a decade ago. I Remember when I would shop at Smart and final the sewage smell right outside Le Basil’s door, and the fluid that comes from their building and seeps onto the parking lot. It is still there a decade later, and completely offensive when you walk in the door.Fortunately, there are many other Thai food restaurants right around the corner.

This is our go-to restaurant for good Asian fusion food alone and with a group. The food & staff are excellent, with a varied menu to please everyone. We especially like the Vietnamese dishes, such as the Bun bowls, that we can't get anywhere else in the valley. Highly recommend!
