Musashi Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar

Love this restaurant! Always great service (Tiffany is my favorite), and all of the sushi is fabulous. The tuna carpaccio is to die for and the hot saki is YUM! We always start with edamame and a cucumber seafood salad.

Know now to order everything at first. If you wait the lead gets long after 5:30! My quests had the dragon tempura roll! The warm middle was an outstanding contrast to the chilly tuna on top! The service is fast and efficient! Every time we plan our trip to Palm Desert we book a reservation! Stella is kind and accommodating to all who walk through the doors!

We were so looking forward to eating here! We both ordered NGIRI SUSHI, HAND ROLLS, TEMPURA VEGGIES. The sushi tasted “funny” but we ate it, thinking it was “us”. The spicy tuna hand rolls were an odd color and this is an item we order whenever we eat Japanese food. They tasted odd too. The soft shell crab hand rolls were just simply awful. Extremely thick fried coating and tasteless. All in all, a really bad meal. AND BOTH OF US WERE UP ALL NIGHT SICK!! Not a pleasant experience...a very expensive error.

My guest and I were seated immedately open entering at a table I had requested in advance. Drink and food orders were taken promptly but our gracious server and delivered expediently. We were delighted with our entree choices and found Musashi to be a friendly and much-appreciated experience. I will return! Thank you.

Best authentic Japanese food we've had in the desert! Hard to get a reservation but I will try to beat you to it!!

Each selection is pleasing to the eye and palate. Authentic food and atmosphere in a hidden spot. Be sure to reserve, it is always crowded.

Pre Covid this was my favorite sushi place in the desert! Post Covid it has somewhat lost its charm a little bit. Service is sterile and not friendly. The hostess or maybe the owner is not so welcoming at all. The sashimi might as well be the same as nigiri without the rice! Sashimi cut should be thicker and not as thin as they serve now. Would I go back? Maybe .. but sad that it has changed so drastically from what it used to be.

First time diners at Musashi and we absolutely loved the local, quiet and authentic experience. Being part Japanese, I really appreciated finding this gem. We'll definitely be back!

It took well over an hour to get our first course. I had a reservation which meant absolutely nothing. The hostess was frazzled.

I would skip the seaweed salad, it was surprisingly chewy. The $19 tempra is only okay, I would skip it as well. However, every sushi roll and nigiri were absolutely excellent! There was a some 50 minutes wait after the tempra.

The food was excellent! I wish I could say the same about the service for the price. My honest opinion!
