We enjoyed the ambience outside and the friendly service. The chef/owner greated and talked with us. The outdoor area was curtained off from the heat and they later pulled back the curtains to give us a nice view of El Paseo and the mountains beyond. Our experience of the food was mixed. The Basket of Grilled Naan Bread was a little rich and not as interesting as naan that you get at an Indian restaurant that is toasted on the tandoor. This was just warm naan. Omg the food is delicious. Every item on the menu including desserts. Lobster lasagne out of this world. I had the Sally pasta and it did not disappoint. The mini donuts for dessert with dipping sauces made our day.

As so many dining establishments are outrageously expensive, we were looking for a less expensive restaurant that still has excellent food, which we found to be the case at Sweet Basil. I had the flank steak with the small Caesar salad. Both were excellent. Steak was cooked as requested and the servicing portion was very good. The customer service was also excellent.
