This is a great place to eat lunch while in The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. We got the (2) Piece Chicken Tender meal which was really great. I thought I was going to get just the chicken, but it came with garlic bread, plus very tasty French fries. Much more food than I expected. Plus, the chicken was the best tenders I've tasted in a long while and huge pieces. the squirrel also enjoyed the food :-) Good pricing and food, I would recommend.

Ok, this place is expensive. However, their chicken tenders are hand breaded and delicious. My kids love these tenders almost as much as the exhibits at the zoo.

Chicken tenders were really good!
Nice little restaurant at the zoo. You could not ask too much at the restaurants inside the zoo. The food was average but pricey for its value. My kid only ate half of its cheese quesadilla.Atmosphere is good but chairs and tables outside the building are dirty and dusty so you want to clean after sitting down to eat.
Kid-friendliness: They have kids high chair and booster seats.

Really nice guy Matt at the counter, but overall was pretty bad. When asked for the Cabernet he said they can’t serve it, even though it was right there on the counter, but he didn’t know why (then put it away at least, bruh?). Opted for the white because, why hassle the kid when he’s just doing his job? Well… He didn’t know how to pour a glass of wine; literally gave me a 2.5oz pour (when they serve 16oz cans of beer) because the bottle ran out. Didn’t bother to open another and fill it properly or say anything about it, but charged us $9 for the pour anyway. My partner and I were too amused to be upset, and we made a couple friendly remarks at the pour but he just stared at us blankly, utterly clueless.Philly ended up being decent and ranch dressing on tap so that was a plus.Mostly kids working here that don’t care, it seems, clearly not being trained properly but very nice… but in this economy, you take what you can get, I suppose?

We enjoyed seeing a wide variety of animals and learning how the natural climate zones of many of the animals are similar to that of the Southern California desert. We understand we were here in the off season, but it would have been nice to have encountered a few more zoo staff or volunteers for information along the way.
