Good, relatively simple (but definitely not bad) restaurant with various chicken dishes, which is no surprise given the name :-). Prices are close to the limit, but probably rather cheap for Palm Springs. Key Lime Pie $15 - per slice, not for the whole pie :-). But I haven't tried it, so unfortunately I can't judge it. Very friendly staff. Can definitely recommend the restaurant.

We got a bunch of carry out to try this place for the first time. I got the fried chicken sandwich on the baguette with the sauce and slaw on the side. Thank God I did because when I tasted the slaw, something was off, tasted bitter and not good. They need to check that recipe, lacking of any salt or flavor but was bitter and tasted almost bad, bad cabbage has a very distinct flavor. The fried chicken though was great, the baguette was perfect and the spicy Mayo was delicious. I'd skip the slaw and just get lettuce and tomatoes and that yummy spicy Mayo bc that baguette with that chicken is delicious!
We also got 2 orders of the leg & thigh, $9/each and I'll say, the chicken was good but $18 for 2 tiny legs and 2 tiny thighs was disappointing. They should be selling the quarter dark for $6-$7 if the legs and thighs are that small, or throw in a cheap side and sell for $9 or $10 to avoid upsetting customers. The chicken salad on the baguette was pretty good, a bit too much Mayo for me, but maybe some like it that way but the Mayo was coming down my hands as I tried to take bites but the flavor was very good. Fries are good, too! I only took a couple photos of my fried chicken baguette, but you can see, it's fried perfect and lots of chicken on that sandwich! I'd come back just for those sandwich, minus the slaw!

Great place. Fresh chicken. Excellent service. The outdoor chairs are kind of small/uncomfortable. Some chairs are cracked.

Was hoping for more as I had been walking by this place for the last week. Ordered ranch chicken sandwich with dark meat expecting it to be juicy, but the chicken was dry. Unfortunately the fries were not fresh nor hot. Server was good.

I had an excellent experience at Chicken Ranch! This was my first time in and I can guarantee I’ll be back next time I’m in town. I enjoyed the banh mi chicken sandwich— talk about delicious. I ate every bite.
I did not care for the drink I ordered- a black cherry gin spritz(a little too sweet for my taste) but Aaron turned it around with a great Negroni!
The three gentlemen working worked well as a team- I felt taken care of. I’m eyein’ the fried chicken sandwich for my next visit…

When you come back here for lunch 4 times in a week vacation, it tells that this is a great restaurant. Some of the best chicken ever, and the service is impeccable. Don't let the modest decor fool you!

I had a craving for non-supermarket roast chicken, and we remembered Chicken Ranch. They have an outside patio with umbrellas. We ordered chicken leg, chicken on a bun with salad, green beans, and roasted yam. The chicken leg was consumed before I remembered to take photographs (sorry). The roasted yams were a great idea, they were roasted with the chicken. The green beans were not as good as the crispy stir-fried green beans in Chinese restaurants in Vancouver though, but it was helpful to have cooked greens.

By far the best chicken I have ever had! This restaurant killed the Chick Fil a vs Popeyes chicken sandwich debate for me. Clearly Chicken Ranch has the best without a doubt. The place was so amazing I went back the next day and ordered the same thing to make sure it was just as great. And guess what?.. It was just as good or even better!

Terrific casual restaurant is in a super location. The salads are surprisingly small and they really should title them “side salad”. They are definitely not entrée sized even if you add the $10 chicken on top. Prices seem a tad high - but I admit the chicken is superior to most.
Servers are efficient and friendly. Nice location near the heart of PS. Green beans side dish is a surprise hit!
The fried chicken sandwich was pretty good, the service was friendly and fairly fast. The spicy part of the sandwich was not spicy at all though.
From the smell of the food outside it must be delicious. However we tried to dine here at 2pm on a hot sunny Palm Springs day and this restaurant does not have any inside seating so we left. The patio was beautiful and large and they did have some misters but still at 103 degrees it doesn't take long before you start to melt along with your food. Yes, we are locals and know about the heat in summer in Palm Springs but still if you are a restaurant in this city and open in the summer you need to offer some indoor seating. We will try again next winter when it's cooled down.

Recent PS travel article was misleading on the place. It read like the restaurant had it together. Sat down at 6pm for dinner and the first thing that was mentioned was," We are out of the fried chicken for the sandwich.” Followed by “It’s very popular.” What I head was…..” someone in the back office has their supply / demand model backwards.”
Then heard the waiter mention to another table that “my boy is rocking it tonight in the kitchen.” Strips were nothing special and overly crispy. Mac and cheese had no flavor and didn’t want to waste more money on dessert.
1 Star.
