This is our favorite bar in the Palm Springs area and we stop in multiple times every time we visit the area. Mainly caters to gay men so you don’t see all the annoying bridesmaids parties like the other gay bars. Love Johnny the bartender! He is amazing and so personable!! They don’t have food here, but they have a QR code where you can order food from one of the other bars across the street and they will deliver here. They do have bags of chips and peanuts and beef jerky that you can buy right at the bar.

On October 1st myself, my wife and a long time resident and friend of Palm Springs went into Dick's at 11:40 am after having breakfast that included 2 mimosas. On arrival the bartender "Church Lady" was nothing but absolute rude when we walked in. He asked us how much we had to drink and we all answered 2 mimosas. On the website for Dick's they advise a welcoming environment. That is not the case at all. "Church Lady" yelled at us saying we were drunk and he refused to serve us and kicked us out. We all at first thought he was kidding but he kept yelling at us. I looked around and there were no woman in the bar. I mentioned to "Church Lady" that it was because we were women and he screamed at us to get out. My friend was floored being a PS resident and couldn't believe the treatment we were going through. There is no doubt this bar does not want women in it which is discrimination! I called the owner and spoke with him to give him a chance to clarify is employees behavior. He complete repeated what Church Lady had said. I asked him if he reviewed his cameras on property and he said no. I then asked him how he knew there were other women in the bar if this hadn't been reviewed? He didn't have an answer for me. I wish I would have read other posts prior to talking to the owner because as you can seen other women have been accused of being drunk and kicked out for no reason. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! Please do not support them ever. Even in the upcoming Pride events. I am also going to be checking in widths Office of Civil Rights to make a complaint. If you feel like this story is a similar story you have encountered at Dick's please send me a message so we can start building a case against this establishment for discrimination and human rights violations.

The bouncer was super rude to our group and proceeded to tell us that their club was not our vibe. Really? We took our business to Hunters down the way, they were super friendly and inviting.

UPDATE: Dick's is the re-branded/re-imagined 501 Eagle bar. It's more relaxed than a typical Levi/leather bar. Most people wear Palm Springs casual attire. The outdoor patio is a prime location for enjoying drinks with friends and people watching. Indoors, the decor is the same, but comfortable with benches along one wall. Also indoors, the sound system is great. On weekends they have excellent DJs who know how to create a good time. Friday nights have bar specials for cocktails and beers. Their wine list has single-serve bottles (like the airlines). Eminently drinkable by those us who are watching our carbs (lol). Note: The first well for ordering is immediately in front of you when you enter. This well gets a line. Stepping to the back well often finds shorter lines.
