Food was mediocre. The people watching was spectacular especially from the sidewalk tables. Wanted it to be better

Went for dinner without a reservation. Despite being a holiday the town was fairly slow. We were able to be seated immediately. Warm bread was brought to our table right away with oil and basalmic vinegar for dipping. The waitress didn't rush us but was attentive to our needs.
We ordered a calamari appetizer and some wine first then after a bit I ordered the entrée. Everything was delicious and prepared well.
I chose one of their specials, fish with capers over pasta. I like capers but often they seem over powering, these didn't.
The overall experience was great

It is really sad. What happens to this place? I have been eating there the past 20 years. So we have a reservation we got our table on time we ordered the food. It took 45 minutes and then we ask the manager what happened to our food because we were watching everybody come up to us they have been served. His answer was the food need to be cooked. We were expecting uncooked food. And then he came back. Say sorry your server. He forgot to put the order. I will food come it was horrible. They give us a burn Bread We cannot believe what happened. We just got the check and left after a horrible meal.

I really am not a fan of restaurants that want to be more than they are, and I felt that very much at Kalura Trattoria.
The place is cute. It's got a stylized storefront, a bar with an open wall to the side yard, and a large outdoor dining area in the front with misting fans. It looks very modern and exciting.
But the experience unfortunately does not deliver on that image. First, the menu (at least the drink and specials menu) were rife with spelling and grammar mistakes. Like 8 per page. That utter lack of attention to detail is a bad sign.
The service was horribly slow. Three servers were sitting, talking, and rolling silverware like 10 feet from us, yet we only saw our server twice. Once to take our order, and once for the check. The food runner did all the work. I wish I could have left a tip just for him.
The food was so average. There was spaghetti in my tortelloni, which, again - no attention to detail. The pancetta in the carbonara was barely fried, it was so pale. The sauces were flat. The bread was incredibly dense, like a corn bread, though it was yeasted. Like, all the food was fine. But it wasn't anything more than that.
We had a fine meal for an acceptable price, it's just not a place I'll be hurrying back to.

This was a friendly, lively restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. We dined outdoors with our well-behaved quiet beagle.
We were SEATED quickly without reservations on a Thursday night with an art walk in progress! Hostess and wait staff are friendly and efficient.
My husband had his go-to meal of SPAGHETTI and meatballs with a lot of fresh Parmesan on top.
I had the special meal of the day: 5 large grilled LANGOUSTINES , with a side of pasta with pesto sauce.
It was our last night in Palm Springs and the dinner here was excellent!
Happy to find a great DOG-FRIENDLY restaurant.

We dined at Kalura on our first visit to Palm Springs back in 2022 and make sure we have dinner there every visit. Daniela is one of best and sweetest servers I’ve ever had and I request her each time. The good, ambiance and service are always incredible!

A very pretty restaurant, our food arrived quickly and it tasted good.
for some reason we waited approx. 20 minutes for our bill to arrive which was much longer than it took for our food to arrive.
Other than that it was very nice.

We absolutely loved everything about our experience! The bolognese was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—honestly one of the best we’ve had. And the tiramisu… Wow! Light, creamy, and just the right balance of sweetness and espresso. Every bite was a treat. The whole meal felt thoughtfully prepared, and everything came out perfectly. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back! 👌🏻✨

Great ambience, attractive interior, warm and romantic. Bread was very good with olive oil, ordered Chicken Marsala...Spinach and Roasted Potatoes. Especially good. Excellent presentation. Waitress wasn't attentive but enjoyed our dinner date.

Giving three stars to the exceptional service. Unfortunately the food was overly salted to the point of being unbearable. Nice location- great crowd watching.
DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU WANT THE RUDEST EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE.
WORST STAFF IVE EVER SEEN IN ANY COUNTRY.
0 hospitality training.
We went there for a birthday from out of town. They rushed out all our food and appetizers, told us they want to close the kitchen and go home, while we’re eating our appetizers?!!
Exact words “kitchen wants to go home early, they sent out all the food” they wanted to put 12+ plates on our table.
We get upset and ask it to be sent back, only for a hostess to stand there and tell us “I don’t have to do anything” and continue to stand there and argue.
The manager did nothing. Told us he’ll call the police if we don’t pay every cent of food we didn’t even touch. $400 bill, 2 plates touched.
Overall, Very disappointed. Table for four on the outside patio around 7pm. We ordered Salads, main courses, and wine. The salads were good…not great. After over an hour waiting for our main courses…the waitress comes to our table and asks: “did you save room for dessert”? We all laughed and said “we are still waiting on our main courses”….OOOPPPS…seems like they clearly forgot about us! So another 15 minute wait and our food finally shows up…we were practically starving at that point… anxious to devour our meals…however….the food really wasn’t that good…seafood pasta and chicken parm we average at best….edible…but, nothing to write home about! I think next time we will pass by and find a better eating alternative!
