Outstanding food in French style. Dinner on the patio is the best. Waiter was ok. But for the price service was pretty casual - started taking order from men before ladies, food served to men first, food served by passing across table when it was easy to walk around the table. I will still return because of the kitchen not the service.

Woderful experience at the Vallauris with special acknowledgement of the great service of our waiter Lane. Friendly, informative, attentive. Five stars. Steve Nash

There were absolutely some five star aspects to this restaurant. The food was delicious, our waiter (Lucas I think) was awesome, cocktails are fabulous, and the pictures don't do justice to how quaint and romantic the courtyard is. We shared the crispy scallops, the Scandinavian plate, the sea bass (although it may have been mahi-mahi), and chocolate soufflé. The crispy scallops and Scandinavian plate were fabulous, the fish was good,, and the soufflé was not something I would order again. The wine list was so-so, which led to cocktails being the drink of choice. I had the Manhattan and a martini. I was definitely a little tipsy when I left! Of the two, the martini was my favorite. It's such a simple drink, but somehow they made it very very well. Here's what I would change, if anybody cares : The menu presented to you is only for a three or seven course prix fixe, and you can only have it if everyone at the table " participates," They bring a massive board, handwritten with a million different options. I'm sorry, but that is overwhelming. I don't go to dinner to stress over, reading a messy, handwritten menu board. Make it easier. Too many choices! Second, the board may have worked better if they allowed you to order as you go. We tried to order an appetizer, and we were told that we need to order everything at once. Again, stressful. I like to start with a little something and then gauge my hunger level. Because we were pressured, and not by our waiter but the system, we just ended up sharing a few things. Pros: atmosphere, service, food Cons: menus, and "inviting" you to order everything at once. And, maybe it's just me, but prix fixe feels a little passé unless you've got some Michelin Stars under your belt. Granted, it was optional, but all of the choices were way too much for a nice dinner out. I probably would've given it five stars if those cons weren't so annoying, but they were. They were totally annoying. At the end of the day it's probably a solid 4.5 stars.

Yum Deluxe! Brunch yesterday was an enchanting experience for my husband's special birthday. How lucky we are to live in the Palm Springs area with the best restaurant under the desert sun. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but you'd have to fly to Manhattan or Paris to get a comparable meal--and at two to three times the price--without the special amenities, the flair that Le Vallauris offers. You're seated under a canopy of tall ficus trees on the patio of an historic vintage bungalow, intimate, elegant, but laid back. No airs or pretense. The cuisine is the ultimate. Local restaurants who advertise as "the best" --eat your overrated hearts out. This is the Real Deal! Start with champagne included and a basket of freshly baked rolls. Then it's onto the appetizers. Which to choose? The Caesar salad in a parmesan basket? The oysters on the half shell? I recommend the Shrimp covered in a crispy phyllo dough crust and served with a dynamite ginger sauce--so good I wanted to take a bath in it. For our entree we chose the Lake Superior Whitefish with a Mousselin Mustard Sauce over a Bed of Spinach and Mushrooms served with Saffron Potatoes. Truly spectacular. Kudos to the chef! Each dish offers a special detail. A tasty sauce on the side. A surprising mini salad. A skilled addition of the exact choice of gourmet mushrooms. A sprinkle of garden fresh herbs. A dessert crowned with a homemade white chocolate triangle. The service is top notch. A delightful wait staff is ready to do cartwheels to please the fussiest foodie. Your meal isn't hot? It's whisked away, and returned, not reheated, but with a completely new plate--the mark of a fine restaurant. Can't taste the Grand Marnier over the creamiest of vanilla gelato snuggled with fresh fruit? The knowing, smiling waiter returns with a goblet of the elegant liquor for you to spike up as you please Treat yourself and your sweetie to brunch or dinner here. More than a meal it's an event to treasure. Roberta T.Z. Rancho Mirage, CA

Great hidden restaurant, didn't like we had to order our dinner all at once, but they spread out time. Our food was delicious, shared portions

My husband, sister-in-law and I enjoyed a lovely dinner on the magical outdoor patio of this restaurant. I loved the tall Indian Laurel ficus trees which the server said were planted in 1973. The building was constructed in 1972. The trees were decorated with lighting and looked beautiful. We had a portable propane heater nearby so we were comfortable in February. I had lobster bisque. We shared a baked onion tart with feta cheese and black olives. I had sea bass. My husband had rack of lamb. My sister-in-law had beef cheeks. We shared a passion fruit crème brûlée. The food was delicious. In good weather most people probably want to sit on the patio, but the indoor seating looked fine with good ambiance and would allow the opportunity to have a delicious meal.

Pretty poor customer service when you are coming from out of town, make a reservation over a month in advance and they call you and cancel your reservation. Their explanation is the sold the restaurant out for an event. Apparently they don't care about the everyday patron.

We chose to experience the 7-course tasting menu. Upon entering the restaurant I overheard the service staff sighing about having a party of 9.While the food was edible and some elements of dishes tasty (the seabass, and the ravioli) the food was at most mediocre. However, there were very real issues during our evening:-one guest served a dish with an allergen after confirming their allergy multiple times-another guest with an allergy confirm with service multiple times an allergy. The whole table was then served that course and all had to wait while the item without allergen was being prepared-4 fruit flies in a Manhattan drink. When identified to service staff, this was taken away. We then had to ask for the drink to be removed from the cheque-we were not given napkins and had to ask for these.-one guest asked for a knife. The service staff then took a used knife from another guest and gave to him without noticing-during each course the server did not intrude the items and came after 2-3 courses and stated briefly what was previously served-after ordering the tasting menu we were asked to give our orders again-on our final cheque an additional bottle of wine was added to our bill. We had to ask to have this removedFor this price point this lack of coordination and unity, particularly for a tasting menu, was a very poor experience

I recently dined at Le Vallauris, and while the ambiance and food were satisfactory, the overall experience was marred by subpar service that fell short of our expectations, especially considering the price point.Where Valloris faltered significantly was in its service. Throughout the meal, the service remained inconsistent and lacking in attentiveness. At the price point of Valloris, one would expect a higher level of service that matches the quality of the food and ambiance. Unfortunately, this was not the case during our visit.

Ordered the Salmon appetizer to go and it exceeded my expectations. This happens all the time.Parking: It's Valet and a house charge, which is expected for this upscale establishment.

Virtually nothing surpasses this outstanding restaurant. The service is impeccable, friendly, helpful & unobtrusive; and the food is excellent, with just enough selections to enjoy but not overwhelm. I absolutely love the garden setting although there is dining inside as well, both with a lovely ambiance.

Great patio sitting and wonderful service. Food was very good but some dishes were just a bit off. Like the tomato tarine and the chocolate souffle. The filet mignon and veal were excellent. Good wine for reasonable price and great
