Good workout, rather steep at the beginning, turned back after 2 km, the views were spectacular!
Parking: Not much parking on the street, we were lucky to find s spot near the trailhead.

This is a great, simple hike with plenty of street parking. It’s about a mile up and back, making it perfect for a quick outdoor escape. There are tables at the top if you want to pack a snack and enjoy the view. Just a heads up—there’s very little, if any, shade, so plan accordingly. Overall, an easy and enjoyable hike!

Incredible
This is not a "hike," depending on how far you go. For us, it was a rock scramble up a fairly steep hillside along private property to a view of Palm Springs. Unable to follow the white dots spray painted on rocks to get to end of "hike"/top of view; noticed another hiker have the same experience and she turned around, too. Photographed some lizards basking in sun.
I came down the mountain via North Lykken Trailhead a week ago. I finished hiking at around 10 am and it was very hot. I was so glad that my hike was not any longer. Please prepare yourself with lots of water, a hat and sunscreen. I saw some cool things - honey bees devouring Cat claw acacia blooms, desert squirrels eating cactus flower, and lots of friendly humming birds and shy lizards. It was very quiet on the trail.
This trail is definitely worth doing! I enjoyed it a lot, I felt very connected with nature! I had the opportunity to see three animals from the habitat! Among those a snake ? that was not so fun! I almost died of fright! So be very careful where you step!

Got started early, before the heat. Fun hike!

Parking: Small parking lot - was fine on a weekday but I could see it filling quickly on a weekend
