Peninsula Pastries offers spectacular French pastries and bread, with the sticky bun described as out of the world delicious. A favorite pastry is the kouign amman, which has one of the most unique versions—perfectly crispy and flaky, not overly sweet, with just the right amount of glaze. Other selections are fine but a bit on the large side. The baguettes and pastries are all incredible. Visitors recommend not missing this spot, noting that there is sometimes a line when they open, but it is worth the wait. The very sweet owners move through the line with friendly efficiency. A lovely Swiss gentleman handling orders is the sweetest and a delight to converse with. Pastries like bread pudding, pain au chocolat, and pear custard tart are delightful. The shop is a must-do when in Palm Springs, and many wish they could make it a daily stop. The owner is charming and personable, and bringing cash is better for them. Peninsula Pastries has been added to many lists of must-dos for Palm Springs visits.
