We had a lovely dinner at Pomme Frite. I had the chicken cutlet that came with mashed potatoes. It was crispy with a lovely lemon sauce and capers. The mashed potatoes were garlicky and delicious. My companion had the salmon and it was perfectally cooked. We also shared a baguette, which is always a delight.
It is always a lovely experience. Excellent food at great prices. Always enjoy their duck and escargot. But everything I've had there has always been great and the service friendly.
We attended the last day of Restaurant Week. We both enjoyed our meals that were done to perfection. Service was outstanding. We will return to Pom Frite
Very charming inside. Delicious food and our waiter was delightful!! Will definitely return!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Palm Springs. It's delicious and charming. I love that the Escargot is made in the traditional French way. The Steak Tar Tar is great too, although I would recommend replacing the mayonnaise with Dijon mustard. It's much better that way!
Excellent food, service, drinks and overall experience. Our group had a variety of appetizers, entrees and deserts. Rack of lamb, mussels and surf & turf were outstanding. Food was perfectly cooked and plated beautifully. Our server was very nice, knowledgeable & knows the beverages well! As locals we can't wait to go back again.
We have been going to Pomme Frite for nearly 20 years and it gets better with age. The food is delicious - from escargot to steak tartar to pacific sole and braised short rib. All of it is A+. To top it off, their French waiter, Willie, is a gem.
I was disappointed in the "California bouillabaisse", which isn't the traditional tomato-based sauce, in part because I didn't read the menu description closely enough. Still, the inclusion of spaghetti in the dish is odd. Otherwise, we were all happy with our Caesar and beet salads, duck and mussels. Service was lovely and efficient as well. Perhaps the biggest detractor is the noise of Palm Canyon Dr., with way too many really loud motorcycles.
Worst cassoulet ever - it was suppose to be duck leg confit but it really looked like Chicken leg - when I Said I had doubt about the leg and was pretty sure it is not duck the owner insulted me , yield at me - he was pretty rude .
Superb escargot! Steak cooked to perfection! Excellent and simple salad! Warmed brie and cranberries amazing! And pear soaked in red wine with vanilla ice was a great finish! A must while in Palm Springs when looking for French food.

The owner was shouting at every one and we we waited over an hour for our food . We sat there for half an hour before we got a menu. We felt very ignored. We complained to the owner she was very defensive made us feel like it was our fault.
This is one of our two favorite restaurants, particularly for a special occasion. The food is excellent, the service professional and friendly and prices are relatively reasonable. Pomme Frites has a real European ambiance which makes it a special place here in the desert. You can even find good bottles of wine for $40 or less, which makes this restaurant unusual in overpriced Palm Springs.
I ordered mussels in a garlic cream sauce. They arrived Luke warm and were cold by the time I had eaten a few. The sauce was cold, and the "baguette" was 4 pieces of fairly stale bread. My dining partner ordered the chicken vol au vant. The sauce was bland and needed seasoning. No one came around to the table yo ask if everything was fine. Service was very slow. This was a disappointing evening at a restaurant we enjoyed on previous visits.

The service was rushed and conversations seemed forced. When I said the escargot lacked flavor, the server said the flavor is the sauce and the snail isn't rubbery, so that's what it should be. Everywhere else features the snail and the sauce is to compliment it. The coq a vin and cassoullet lacked much depth of flavor that these dishes are renowned for. We were tremendous disappointment having very good experiences years ago.
