We had made a reservation for Father's Day, which was confirmed by a text message the day prior. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, it was empty and dark. There was no posted note or explanation as to why they were closed on the door. No one answered a call to the restaurant, but a voice message relayed the information that they are only closed on Monday and open on Sunday. Needless to say, we were greatly disappointed.

I've been to Rio Azul numerous times. Even twice in a row nights on my bachelor party back in 2019. Tonight pales in comparison to past experience. We were not approached for 20 minutes (literally). We ordered everything at once just because we didn't want it to take any longer. We ordered 2 margaritas and a modelo draft. We got overly sweet and sour margaritas which I couldn't taste any tequila and a bottled modelo. When the drinks were done we were never asked if we wanted another round (which we would've ordered beers instead). While waiting a very long time for a table touch or even our check we saw a table of 3 gentlemen get up and leave because they hadn't been served except for chips and water. I had to ask the hostess if she could flag down my waitress because we wanted to lay and leave. The food wasn't special like I remember. Just meh. Our reservation was at 7 and we didn't leave until 845. Again, we only had 1 round of drinks. It was a disappointment and it used to be good. We always thought their food was better than Las Casuelas done the street. Maybe but anymore.

Always a joy to share dinner with family and friends at Rio Azul! Our favorite spot for Mexican specialties in the valley! Great food, drinks and service, as well as a great value for the wallet! Dani and the crew always make us feel special.

We were looking for a Mexican restaurant and came across Rio Azul.We made reservations ahead of time but they were not needed. The restaurant had no wait time when we arrived. We were seated right away and service was quick. We ordered the Queso Flamiado as appetizer and the make your own Fajita for two. Both were delicious and loaded with flavors.Parking was a little tricky. They have a shared parking lot and most of the spots were hotel specific. The restaurant spits were all full however street parking was available.*****We were looking for a Mexican restaurant and came across Rio Azul.We reserved a table in advance but this was not necessary. We set out on the patio. Very nice evening. We were there for happy hour! Great menu! Margarita's were great and loved the chips and salsa. We both ordered the tacos and the were great. Plenty of meat and cheese and the tortillas were crispy. Would recommend going there ?

We stopped going a couple of years ago to Rio Azul - it had lost its sparkle and the service, comfort level and food seemed to have dropped to a dismal level. We decided to give it another try and I am happy we did. Everything was back to its high standard. We had an enjoyable evening with our daughter with good food, a great server and an enjoyable evening. If you've given up on Rio Azul post pandemic I encourage you to give it another try.

It was an epicurean delight!!! We've been coming to Rio Azul since they opened. It's that place where the food is prepared ‘old school' and the flavors are exceptional.

This used to be our go-to Mexican restaurant here in Palm Springs. We enjoyed the food, the bar, and the staff. Things went awry about a year ago and we stopped going. Last night we decided to give it a try again and I'm happy to report the food was great and the service was fine. The main dining room is not quite the same, the booths have been replaced with tables and chairs so it's not quite as intimate or comfy as it used to be. But there's always the bar to dine at or the patio. We will continue to go back and hope the current trend there is the new Rio Azul!

First bar we hit after checking in our hotel around the area, it was around happy hour so we got a good deal. Owner is the bartender, wife is the host. Gave us tips on how to do it the first time, good 1st stop!

We ate outside on a Friday night and had the most delicious dinners. Sizzling Fajitas, cheese quesadilla, and tacos. All was served quickly. It's such a cute spot and we always enjoy eating at Rio Azul.

Great restaurant! Super great food and very friendly staff! They give you free chips and salsa. The menu is great, from plan beef and cheese tacos to fajitas to burritos. Great outdoor patio? Highly recommend for
