We have been fans of SammyG's for years. But last night was a great disappointment. We hosted first time guests - the table was in a horrid location almost forcing two of us to try to eat at the edge. The waiter refused to provide separate checks for the two couples. Really? in 2025 you can't provide separate checks? If this is a restaurant policy, shame on SammyG's. If this was the waiter's policy - shame on him. Bummer experience - but the food was their usual very good.
Sammy Gs is my goto dining experience. Great Palm Springs 🌴 experience and the food delicious. Staff always warm, friendly and attentive.
Our first visit. Wonderful place for lunch! Great service and great value as well. I had the Insalata Di Ciya ( pro tip- add a couple of prawns and my wife had the Fruit Chicken Salad with the yummy curry flavored chicken salad. Plus bottomless champagne for only $9!
Fish and chicken pizza were ok. I wish the fish came with smash potatoes in addition to the green beans. They served too many green beans.
The garlic bread is so delicious and so was my wedge salad. The salad came with creamy garlic dressing with chunks of blue cheese on it, and sliced red onions... so delicious. My main dish was the mushroom ravioli in a cream sauce. I really splurged today. My sister and I go to Sammy's every time we vacation in Palm Springs.
The ambiance is very nice. Service was also very good (Humberto). The rib eye (Chianti) and lasagna was tasty as well as the kids spaghetti and meatball. We were here before and would recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant is beautiful with indoor or patio seating. I recommend the patio as it has two lovely fountains. The service is prompt and top notch. Servers know their food well. Wine menu is extensive and cocktails as well. The food is really the star here! Excellent lasagna the very best. Looking forward to dining here again.
I was ORDERED AND THREATENED by a female egoed out GM to delete my honest review on the last dining experience that was 100% truthful about a family celebration ruined by a rude stressed out server who didnt like it that we had to return an order initially ordered with requests for certain spices to not be put on meal due to life threating allergy illness' as order came out wrong with things we cant eat. ... We wiill not return nor will several other friends who interestingly enough said they had issues with same server on other occasions. These people have jobs because of us..its a shame as we ve gone to this location since day 1 of original owner who was a family friend who is going to be very upset to know of all this as an item on menu named after him!, way before rude gm was ever a usa resident..on to Johnny Costas!
I was in town on business and ate here a few weeks before Halloween. I really enjoyed the friendly personality of my server and the atmosphere at this place. I liked it so much that I asked my server to take pictures of me with a huge smile on my face and the beautiful restaurant as the background. My server was smiley, fun, and understanding of the time I took to order.
However, the longer I was there (and especially after reviewing the pictures), the more I felt that the Halloween decorations seemed really out of place. There were inflatable Halloween decorations with silly cartoon designs on them, and small skeletons pinned to posts and tree trunks in various poses. These didn't seem to match the original atmosphere of a romantic, Tuscan grill.
I expected the food to be expensive, due to the venue, and it was. I expected the food to be divine, because of the venue, and it wasn't. It could be because my palette isn't refined enough, but I found a lot of my meal to be hard to swallow except for the gnocchi.
I would probably try this restaurant again when in town, if for no other reason than to improve this review and see if there are other things on the menu that would match my virgin gourmet tastebuds.

Great pasta dishes and Italian food, plus. You won't be disappointed. Inside and outside seating just off Palm Canyon Drive. Moderately priced.
