I hesitated writing this review but decided that it could help the owner make necessary changes. I want to support locally owned businesses but there's no way I will go back to Sonny’s or recommend the place unless there are major changes to the food and service.
My last, and final, visit to Sonny's was last Thursday. I'd had several meals there since they opened and they had been decent. But things have been going downhill for a while and I'm done. On the last visit there were 10 of us for dinner and we were the first or second table in the place. Our server (I think Jen is her name) was pleasant when we sat down. It took a little while for her to come back and take our order, and that was pretty much the last we saw of her. Around 45 minutes after ordering an appetizer we waved her down to ask about it. She was visibly annoyed and said something about it being ready in the kitchen. I wasn't clear why it was ready but not being brought out but it didn't matter because the fried cheese sticks were so overcooked as to be mostly inedible. After another 20 minutes, we noticed tables that came in after us were getting their food. We all finally decided to leave as we had no update from the server, and that's when the server really gave us attitude. She said something about our food being ready but it was too late and we were going. She was clearly annoyed but didn't make any attempt to calm the situation or even apologize. Her approach was that we had done something wrong and she wanted to make sure we knew it.
There was a gentleman working at the bar who did seemed concerned that we hadn’t gotten our food and didn’t display a negative attitude.
It’s unfortunate that the restaurant seems to be on a downward trajectory but I think things could be turned around. Focusing on the food and getting rid of the server with the terrible attitude would go a long way.

My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered 2 drinks and some food. The guy working behind the bar was not the usual bartender but really did his best to make our drinks. He made one for my husband and then he took our food order. By this time the bartender shows up. She is clearly annoyed, not sure why and eventually makes my drink. After she makes it she just leaves it on the rubber drink mat and walks away. After a couple minutes I figured I would just grab it. I took a sip of it and spit it out. The drink I ordered comes with a sugar rim. Mine was a salt rim. So another 5 minutes goes by as I try to get the bartenders attention. She is busy going in and out keeps disappearing into the kitchen. So I let the other server know, the one who made my husband’s drink. He was extremely apologetic and said he would make me another drink. Now the bartender is back. I let her know that the rim is covered in salt. She is now even more irritated and blames the guy who was originally helping us. Her solution was to tell him to wipe the rim of the glass off and remove the salt and then I could drink it. 🤨😖😡 Well that obviously did not work because the salt had already adhered to the glass. I have never heard of something so absurd. They ended up throwing the drink away and made me a new one. Doubt I’ll ever go back to that place. That was truly unreal and clearly the female bartender needs some serious training. The first server, I believe his name is Drew and he was absolutely fantastic. Such a nice guy and really tried his best.

There has been a steady decline in the quality of food recently. We ordered chips and guacamole, which we have enjoyed before, but this time they were no crispy. They were soft and chewy and had an odd color. Our entrees were different from before and not in a good way. Something is definitely wrong in the kitchen.

We like the staff and location so we’re surprised when we had to wait over an hour for a plate of food that was cold, stale, and had probably been sitting out for hours. This experience was quite unexpected. I’d like to say I’d come back but it will probably be awhile before that happens.

Tried giving this place a 3rd try. Came tonight 1 worker 1 cook. Waited 45 minutes for a salad. Saw someone come in after me. Got his order. Then a friend came in right before I decided to leave and his friend got his order before mine. I've tried to give a gay establishment a try especially after a 3rd time being there and will not go back. The owners came in and instead of helping saw them behind the bar chit chatting and grab a bottle of vodka. I was so disappointed. I wanted to give them a try but no luck. I miss this place being bongo johnnys who has great service and cheaper prices for the same type of food. The server milo was wonderful but it is unfair to leave 1 person to tend a dinner rush.

Well, I am extremely disappointed by the horrible service by the local establishment. I am for supporting local businesses. I am sorry, after forty minutes waiting for our salads. I have to give this establishment a low rating review. The waiter did his best to give us a good service, but the overall experience was quite bad. I am truly sorry, but we are not going back to this restaurant again. Sorry, but I have to speak my mind.

Went for breakfast and didn’t order. Young waitress of possible Asian descent, I found pretty rude. Also, the touching her hair repetitively just not very clean in a restaurant. I got up and left. I have eaten here before. The food is good. Nothing special but, good. If you can get a seat outside when it’s not crowded it’s great. inside very crowded. Not enough room for the seating. Hard to get around I’d like to give it more stars, but just can’t.
