We had high expectations based on the reviews , but unfortunately the experience fell short. The food was below average and did not justify the high prices. While the ambiance and service were pleasant, the overall value for money was disappointing. Not a place I would revisit. Even the food quality was below average. .

I don't believe Ettan food justifies the premium price point. While there was a novelty factor when it opened - the menu has remained largely unchanged. They do charge premium prices, but portion sizes of the appetizers as significantly gone down - the quality is okay. To continue justifying the price and reputation - they should consider adding more variability on the menu and be a bit more generous with the portion sizes.

Great food, did not disappoint. A little loud for my taste but definitely great ambiance. Service from Mahesh was excellent

I booked a reservation for the Pongal menu weeks in advance based on an email I received. It said Brunch and Dinner on Jan 17 and 18. My sister in law was visiting from out of town, and I wanted to surprise her with a special south Indian meal. When we arrived at 7pm, our server told us that menu was only available for brunch. I asked if there's anything they could do and was told no. We ordered off the regular menu, nothing was spectacular but the meal was fine. This seemed like false advertising, or lack of communication. I am not planning to return to Ettan after this.

Food is really bad and service is below average Very few options and very greasy food and even service is below standards for what you pay

I have been to Ettan, Eylan a few times before and first time for a feast. It was absolutely fantastic. Lot of items and very homely food. Some of the items were quite new to me but very tasty. Got a flavor of Tamil Nadu food. The sweets in the end were just fabulous! The Bangalore days drink was superbly balanced (sweetness, sourness etc). Now I have to go to Copra too - the last frontier in the trinity that Chef Srijith runs! :)

We were at Ettan with friends this week and we were amazed by their flavors! Beaufitful decor, friendly staff, follow your server recommendations and try new dishes. The Sesame leaf and the Pani Puri are must tries! Samosas were also delicious! We had their Chicken Biryani, Goan Tiger Shrimp, Butter Chicken, Vellore Chicken Curry, Paneer Kalimirch. We did order family style so everyone could taste all the dishes! Dessert was also so flavourfull, we had the mango passion fruit one and the Kulffi. Would definitely return to you!

Below average food will ok portion size. Biryani was dry. Lamb galouti was dry too. Kerala chicken was decent.

I think the starters need a revamp. They felt bland to me especially the methi matar kebab. For the price point the food wasn't good overall. The main course paneer dish was tasty gravy wise but I felt the paneer to be stiff and hard . Overall I believe that for fine dining the restaurant need to upgrade the food. For a bill of $150 I didn't like the food to taste good. I felt other economical restaurants have better tasting food. The dessert(Bartlet pear) was not good. The icecream proportion was very small and the ghee cake was bitter. Vibe wise the tables didn't have the table cloth. Honestly I expected more from a fine dining restaurant

We're visiting the Bay Area and wanted to try fusion Indian food - fair warning, that I am quite a foodie and had high expectations of the restaurant based on review. Unfortunately, we had a mixed experience with our lunch. The paneer kalimirch was a great balance of flavors that highlighted a fresh block of home made paneer, but the butter chicken was meh...the lamb kebab had great texture and spices while the Atlantic salmon was quite a disappointment. We did get a side of basmati rice which was served with lumpy bits. Usually Indian restaurants don't mess up plain basmati rice! I would add a little oil and cumin when preparing and serving a side of plain rice.
The server was quite busy and forgot to come back and fill the water glasses for the guests that were seated after the original group.
For the prices of the items and the ambiance, the food quite fell short of expectations.

We dine at Ettan frequently and the food though they experiment with Indian food it still holds the original flavors and that’s a plus for me. Services is great with amazing ambiance. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place to dine with family to a date night they are perfect for both.

All of the food was excellent. I already love Indian food, but this was the best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had. The fried chicken was a bit too salty—it seemed heavily brined—which was the only disappointment, as everything else was great. The desserts were outstanding as well—absolutely delicious.

Ettan is upscaled modern Indian restaurant so expect every dish to be a bit pricy.
We tried (1) Seasme leaf (2) Methi Matar Kabab (3) Paneer kaalimirch

Sesame leaf was 10/10. Very unique combination of crispy leaf, yogurt and Indian chutneys. Must try

Methi matar kabab - 7/10. Although kabab were very soft. I felt it a bit dry. Combination with tamarind chutney or yogurt will be better.

Paneer Kaalimirch - 10/10. Unique flavour. However their naan have eggs in it. If you are vegetarian your only option is wheat roti, pudina lachha paratha. Both breads are very okayish. Wish they had eggless naan.

Overall pretty good experience

service was pretty bad :( . been here 3 times . the third time , it was a bit of a let down . had a fly on my water , the frequency of check-ins was very less . had to wait for the final check , for a while after we were done with the food .it was cold and had started to drizzle . they gotta observe the table and come and check in more often . ( granted it was after 9 , but still :( )
