Hatched Reviews
Had a fantastic team lunch at Hatched in Palo Alto with my office colleagues. We went for a fully vegetarian spread and tried a great mix of their popular toasts and burgers, including Avocado Toast, Wild Mushroom Toast, Ricotta Toast, Heirloom Tomato Toast, Impossible Burger, Portobello Mushroom Burger, Veggie Burger, and Black Bean Burger.

Amazing breakfast sandwich, fresh and great quality
Hatched is a small joint selling breakfast sandwiches and toast, as well as matcha lattes and its variants. Brunch sandwiches and specialty lattes would sum it up well. And they are SO. DARN. GOOD. Yes, they are a bit pricey compared to similar sandwiches you get from Popeyes or Chick-fil-A but quite frankly comparing Hatched to fast food is an unfair comparison. Hatched creates phenomenal artisan sandwiches and latte for a decent price.

Hatched is a small, lively spot in Palo Alto known for its breakfast sandwiches, toasts, burgers, and specialty lattes. The restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian options, including avocado toast, wild mushroom toast, and veggie burgers, which are fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Avocado Toast and Wild Mushroom Toast stand out for their rich, well-balanced flavors, while the hearty Impossible Burger, Portobello Mushroom Burger, Veggie Burger, and Black Bean Burger provide satisfying vegetarian choices packed with taste and texture. The menu also features breakfast sandwiches such as the Holy Shiitake and Breakfast Burger, both praised for their delicious flavors and well-cooked ingredients. Tater tots and salads are popular sides, with the garlic parm version layered with toppings and flavorful, though sometimes needing a bit more crisp. The matcha lattes, including coconut ube, are surprisingly good, adding to the overall positive experience.
The service is friendly and efficient, though inside seating is unavailable, with only a few outdoor tables that fill up quickly. The small, busy space can be chaotic during peak hours, making it best to visit during off-peak times for a more relaxed experience. Despite the limited seating and the busy environment, the quality of food and drinks makes Hatched worth the visit. The food is consistently described as tasty, with well-made sandwiches, fresh ingredients, and satisfying flavors. Prices are higher than fast-food options, but the quality and artisan nature of the offerings justify the cost. Hatched is highly recommended for those seeking great vegetarian options, flavorful breakfast sandwiches, and specialty lattes in Palo Alto.
