How come my review was taken down?? Here it is again:What a dismal experience!! My partner and I decided to check it out last night when we heard a band playing music. As we were crossing from the opposite sidewalk on Cal. ave to get to the bar, I noticed the person manning the bar looking at us and muttering something under his breath. As we got to the door, that same person introduced himself as the bar owner and asked if we were here for the wine bar. We answer with the affirmative and we ask if they serve food as well. He informs us that they serve small plates only and hands us the menu. During our interaction, my partner and I noticed the alcohol breath and the buzzed red eyes of the owner. The food menu didn't appeal to us, so we decided to politely decline. As we turned our backs and were about to leave, my partner overheard him muttering "Palo Alto hippies"!! Today, we shared our dismal experience with another couple and they confirmed that they had a similar experience with the owner's erratic behavior and alcohol breath. We normally don't post reviews, but since both couples had similar experience, we thought of sharing. It's unfortunate that such a wine bar on a premium spot on Cal ave. gets overshadowed by it's owners reckless demeanor.

You must stop by! Great food with fabulous wine. Ask Mahmood for wine recommendations and you can't go wrong. We thought we'd stay for a bit and were here for 2 hours.
Excellent light jazz, stellar wine selection, beyond superb service at Moods - Mammad the owner and probably the only person serving everyone, is a treasure. Love this little Co-op place that also hosts a cafe and gallery at different hours.Highly recommend bringing a book, a friend, or your work to chill here late afternoon til sunset.Great place to chill when there's a lot happening on California Ave.

So happy to have stumbled upon this friendly and inviting wine bar on a Friday night! My friends and I were looking for a place to grab a drink and chill after dinner and we're enamored by the live music. Unfortunately, we arrived 6 minutes before closing, but the owner Mahmood invited us to stay and enjoy the music. Little did we know that it would turn into a whole dance party! What a delightful; pleasant evening with some wonderful company. We didn't try the food as the kitchen was closed, but I would happily come here again to enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy l more of what they have to offer. I was pleasantly surprised by the kind, thoughtful service. I would absolutely come here again.

Moods Wine Bar is the best wine bar in Palo Alto. The service is excellent! White glove service I might add. Mammad, the owner is the nicest guy ever. He makes everyone feel welcome.In addition, you have to check out Tebo’s band. They are incredible! Tebo will be their every Thursday from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Get there early, it will be a packed house. If you love funky blues and R&B, come on down.

we love moods!! came here on a whim looking for live music with my bf and found a total gem we had delicious, generous pours of the house white and red wine at a very reasonable price (i forget what types they were im a beer lover who likes to branch out on occasion). they have little candles on the table and it's perfect for a date night (outdoor seating has great heat lamps) the owner is so kind and welcoming and it's clear even to newcomers that he's built a beautiful community at moods :) no qualms at all, i only wish i lived a bit closer! maybe i'll move.....
