It was definitely slower than any other time that I've been to Rangoon Ruby but I haven't been there for lunch too often. We were the only patrons for the first 30 minutes. The food, service, ambience were all the same as always so very good. We ordered a couple of entrees and the tea leaf salad. The restaurant was much busier when we left but it was really nice having it quiet enough to have a conversation at a normal volume.

Service is excellent and even the sequence of serving was disciplined. All condiments and orders were brought in correctly. Adjusted our food according to dietary needs. It was my second visit after 13 years. Place gets very busy if you hit dinner time reservations are recommended and Parking is challenge.

We had a reservation for four people at 7:30pm but had to wait for 15 minutes before we were given a table although we could see several tables available for all the time we were kept waiting! Another family of four arrived 10 minutes after us (without a reservation) and was seated almost at the same time as us - not sure why we were made to wait. Since the other group was seated at the table right next to ours, our disappointment in the service continued : their order was taken before ours although we were seated earlier (by a couple of minutes). We placed our complete order (drinks, appetizers and entrees) at the same time in order to keep it efficient, but none of ours arrived till after the other table was served all their dishes (we expected atleast the drinks & appetizers to arrive in a timely manner). Drinks were brought AFTER the appetizers, and after we had given up and started eating! We had ordered two vegetarian tea leaf salads, and one was served pre-mixed (huge red flag) while the other was ceremoniously mixed at our table (the way the restaurant routinely does). Almost felt like another table had sent back a plate (wrong order?) and they decided to give it to us. Also, the pre-mixed one came with tomato pieces, while the one freshly mixed one did not. We're skeptical that the first one was even vegetarian because one member in our group got a tummy ache by the end of dinner. The whole flow of our meal was weird, and it didn't feel celebratory, like we had intended the meal to be. We were there to celebrate the milestone achievement of one of the family members, and the experience was a let down.

Went for Saturday lunch at Rangoon Ruby. I started with a chilled Thai beer that paired perfectly with the bold, vibrant flavors of the dishes. The lemon chicken crispy, tangy, and a little more than the right amount of sweet. The prawns were very sweet and I could not finish them. The samosas were golden and packed with flavor. Extremely overpriced compared to the quality and the taste of the food they serve.

I accidentally discovered this restaurant and WOW! Love it! Have eaten there 3 times this month. Wish we had one in Los Altos. Judy

We were seated promptly. Service was friendly and unobtrusive. We had tea leaf salad, shrimp and eggplant, lemongrass chicken, and garlic noodles (medium spice level). A great meal and half came home for dinner tomorrow.

Ruby Rangoon is a gem for flavorful Southeast Asian cuisine! The tea leaf salad was fresh and packed with umami, and the crispy samosas were perfectly spiced. The fiery tofu had a great balance of heat and texture, though I wouldn't have minded an extra kick. The pad Thai was delicious, though slightly on the sweeter side, and the lemongrass chicken was fragrant, tender, and well-seasoned. Service was warm and welcoming. Overall, an excellent dining experience—I'll definitely be back!

I really wanted to like it but unfortunately we had a bad experience from the start. The lettuce cups appetizer had hard bits in it that we had to spit out. We ate very little of it and told our server who didn't seem to understand. The main course was fine but we were careful eating. We couldn't wait to leave.

Food was great. The place was super packed and even with a reservation there was a 15-20 min wait.

We decided to try new things and ordered the lotus chips Very tasty with tea leaf aioli which we loved, along with the Tea Leaf Salad which is the most interesting and delicious salad on the planet! The staff took great care of us, advised on a few choices on the menu which turned out to be beyond great, Delicious and a pleasure to try! We had the broccoli with garlic, the Chicken and Shrimp, the Ruby Shrimp too and the food was fantastic in presentation and flavors. We will definitely dine at Rangoon Ruby again!

The server Mel was great we love him. I asked for no spice and the chicken and they added hot peppers. The broccoli was cold and my friends rice was not hot. But the food was delicious once we got it right
