One of their staff was not friendly, she had no patience when you ask questions and give you bad looks. I was there this afternoon, right when I walked in a worker came and asked me if I'm ready to order in a not so friendly tone. I said oh not yet please give me one sec as I looked at the different flavors. I saw a flavor I wanted to try and asked if I can get a sample, she said no we don't do samples here. Which is fine if it's your store policy I totally understand, however she said it in a condescending tone and looked at me as if I'm asking just to get free ice cream. And after that she just stood there and stared at me and gave me bad looks. When I looked around, the other two workers were super friendly with the customers they were helping, which made me wonder why just me being treated like that? Just because I asked for samples? I felt so judged so I just said thank you and ran out. I'm sorry I didn't know you guys don't offer samples, but she could've totally said it in a nicer way instead of making me feel bad about myself.

Interesting flavors and service but I don't think I'd go again. The flavors sound better than what they were and the toppings didn't really go well with most. Overall, not a bad place and definitely unique.

Craving ice cream this night with family. Showed up at 9pm, they close at 10. First thing, no sampling. Mixed feelings about this when offering different "exotic" flavors. The problem was the server. She basically was rude. She appeared more interested in closing the store down than helping us. I did mention we showed up an hour before closing. Unfortunate, i did enjoy the Lychee ice cream. Guess I'll stick with Salt n Straw.

Located in downtown Palo Alto, street parking is hard to find but there are plenty of parking garages and lots. There's no indoor seating whatsoever. Vanilla bean and espresso toffee crunch milkshake (4/5): delicious. It wasn't too sweet and I think my combo of flavors were pretty spectacular. I do have to say the shake was a bit hard to suck and wasn't as creamy as I'd like. Nonetheless the flavor was good. Overall, Scoop Microcreamery is a good place to get some late night ice cream.

I look forward to the Mitchell's ice cream at Scoop, and a HUGE variety of flavors. I stop by whenever I visit Palo Alto (from up the Peninsula). All of the employees (except one who plays such obnoxious music that even I won't go inside the store) are exceptionally nice and helpful. Otherwise, the music played in very entertaining and appropriate. And they DO give samples! But not until after you buy, and they call it something else besides a sample. It's a sad fact that here in San Mateo there is NO good ice cream place, either Downtown or near Downtown. Perhaps Scoop could consider expanding northward (hoping they read this glowing review).

Super cool place with fresh hot cones right in front of you . The owner is super friendly and nice . You should try it out . They took out a new ice cream from the back for me when I asked for suggestions. Super yummy

We got 5 flavors of ice cream and each one of them except the mango was disappointing! All of them had artificial flavors that left a weird after taste. This place is overpriced for subpar ice cream that is worse than the store bought ones.

Came here on Valentines day. Great customer service. Great ice-cream variety. I needed to use the restroom and the owner let me use their own bathroom which was very kind of him.

Swung by for dessert after lunch with some friends. They have a cute sign outside with all of the flavors for the day. I got a scoop of Peach/Mango Sorbet and a scoop of Lychee. The Sorbet was pretty good, but the Lychee was bland and tasteless. Given the other options in the area, I can't say I would come here again unless there is a unique flavor of the day that I want to try.

Best pistachio I've had. Lot's of fun flavors, like Ginger Spice. Great flavors and fantastic service!

Cute ice cream place with outdoor seating and fun and unique flavors like Thai tea, lychee, ube, etc. My friend got the lychee and loved it! I got the coffee toffee which was also delicious! The only downside was that they don't offer samples, and the person working the counter was a bit gruff. I'd still come back to try other flavors though!

Who gets ice cream on a super rainy day? Me, of course. Had dinner in the area and was craving dessert, so naturally, we visited Scoop Microcreamery. Because it was such a rainy day, there was no line at all and I could take my time to decide what I wanted. Note: they don't do samples here but you can get a spoon of another flavor to try on top of your scoop (I forgot the cute name they had for it). I opted for the espresso toffee crunch. You'll like this if you like the flavor of coffee - it's strong and I like the crunch from the toffee. I tried the grasshopper pie (mint chocolate chip w Oreo & fudge) - pretty much as you'd expect, one of my fav flavors that can be found at other ice cream shops. I should've tried the brown sugar banana though - sounds delicious. Next time. As everyone else has said, it is pretty pricey for the scoop size you get. $6 for a pretty small size scoop. Good if you're looking to splurge and try a different flavor but if you're looking to save, this might not be the place for you.
