About Jing Jing Gourmet

Jing Jing Gourmet is a Chinese restaurant located in Palo Alto. The restaurant is known for its good service, with a kind and welcoming staff. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the bathrooms and kitchen are kept clean.

The menu offers a variety of Chinese dishes, including Schezwan and Hunan dishes, which are popular among customers. The food is consistently good, with some customers dining there several times a month for many years. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the high prices in downtown Palo Alto.

Jing Jing Gourmet offers weekday lunch specials, which include soup, two items, rice, and tea. There are 12 lunch special dishes to choose from, ranging from mild to spicy and including beef, chicken, pork, and prawns.

However, some customers have noted that the flavors are not as authentic as they would like. The noodles in the pan-fried noodles dish, for example, were described as overly chewy and tasteless. Despite this, the food is described as clean and fresh, with good portion sizes for the price.

Overall, Jing Jing Gourmet is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable Chinese restaurant with good service and reasonable prices. While the flavors may not be completely authentic, the food is consistently good and the restaurant is kept clean and pleasant.

Vegetarian options: Just ask and the restaurant will try to accommodate.

It's easy to get walnut shrimp right. It's sweet, and nothing too fancy to get too wonky. But chow fun is definitely a different animal. Add prawns into that and it has the possibility of everything going sideways. This restaurant though had both of those dishes down pat. Even the Rangoon is better than I've had at most places. Honestly a super good meal, well priced, and good portion sizes. The BBQ bun did seem a bit doughy but everything else was so good it didn't affect my score...read full review
