Maybe short staffed today? Service was a bit slow so I was served about 5-10 minutes after rest of my party. Water wasn't refilled for firs yet 1/2 hour or so. Meals were delicious

This is a beautiful cafe/brunch place offering high tea. We went for lunch with a pre-booking and had a great experience. The place has gorgeous flower decor and very instagramable (It has a Photo Booth).

On the flip side, the vegetarian menu was very limited and the food was okay, not great. We had the tofu omelette and mushroom Benedict. The place is also rather small, hosts about 20 chairs unlike its other SF or Menlo Park locations, so the wait can get high on popular days.

A great analogy for Instagram — looked good from far away and got worse the closer I got.

Dusty plastic flowers adorn the space.
Table was not stable and made from damaged plastic.

Cute plastic bear cup was how my burned coffee was delivered.

The plates are beautiful, but the food was mediocre.

The water tasted off.
The toast was cold, the butter was weirdly sweet.
The pancakes were okay, but the fruit served on them was old. You know how strawberries get sickly looking after a few days? Like that.

The sausage was served with weird sweet jam on it.

I had to ask for salt & pepper for the eggs.

Go if you want to take pretty pictures, but eat first.

Toast was cold,

Overall we enjoyed the experience at Son and Garden for the Enchanted Rose Tea Experience. We were seated promptly but much to our dismay the table we were given was in the corner and it was quite cramped. Trays were pre-prepared and served quickly. The blueberry biscuit was freshly baked we longed for more butter as one small ramekin didn't satisfy four people. The sandwiches were tasty. The samosa was the highlight. Some of the desserts fell short they didn't appear to be fresh(cheesecake had funny taste and strawberry rice crispy stale). The lemon tart was a group favorite. Another disappointment was bag tea not freshly brewed loose leaf. We were served fresh cold water at a rapid pace but had to request hot water and additional tea bags as one was not enough for the whole service. If you want some cute photos this is your place.

We've eaten here multiple times and at their sister restaurant that I can't seem to recall at the moment. It's always spot on in terms of food quality, promptness, friendly service, etc. we made a reservation for two but then added a third person and a baby in a stroller and they were able to accommodate ad hoc very easily. This is how businesses should operate.

We enjoyed the Crabby Omelet and the Bibimbap. Both delicious! This is our first time at the Palo Alto location. It's much nicer & newer than the SF Son & Garden. It was easy to find parking. The only thing I was disappointed with is my omelet was served with toast, instead of the delicious scone that usually comes with my omelet. Yes, I have ordered the Crabby Omelet at least 7 times. Our server was very pleasant, polite, and attentive. Thank you.

Okay. Son & Garden (S&G) needs to make it darn clear what this place is for. Despite the food being quite good I'd say, this isn't your regular eatery. This is what I call a thematic experience where food is accompanied with the atmosphere provided by the restaurant to you.

The entire joint screams "Instagram" from endless flowers hanging from the ceilings, both inside out. The decor is fit for a tea party on a posh Hawaiian resort built in a field of flowers. The cuisine is a collage of random things that would present well and accompany the conversation.

You go to S&G cause you're having a girl's night out or want to go somewhere pompously, over-dressed whether in island theme or night out, take plenty of pictures, whether of the food or yourselves, and just have a unique fun time. Now I don't want to emphasize that it is for the ladies only but if you are a group of guys, you will absolutely feel out of place.

Now to the food. The food again is quite good. Slightly pricey but you are in downtown PA. Everything comes out photograph ready. And sometimes it does get in the way of the flavor (like why is there a rose in a Sprite). But at the end of the day, you'll enjoy the food. Service wsa great as well - super fast and friendly.

I'm giving this place 4 stars only because it did not set the right expectations up front. For what it is, and if you know how to enjoy such a photogenic chit-chat experience, S&G is one of a kind for you.

Parking: It's downtown PA. No store has their own parking lot. You can find parking in one of the many PA public garages.

Some of the most beautifully presented dishes you'll see, the food here is fun and delicious. Service is good but not great. Now that this restaurant is located in Palo Alto (used to be in Menlo Park by the train station) it's a bit more convenient for a weekend brunch and stroll through town. We enjoyed it and will be back - thank you!

Parking: Parking in Palo Alto is all about timing. Getting there at 11:30 on a weekday will leave you with plenty of options. Conversely, at 11:55 you'll be SOL, so plan accordingly

Oh my goodness! This was by far even better than what I saw from your social media account! Immediately my friend was in love with everything. From the entrance, seating area, tea setup, and selfie area. She loved all of the flowers, and enjoyed her special day. I cannot wait to come back for brunch! Thank you for making her birthday special ?.

Ambiance: Cute and fancy decorations. Definitely a girly’s go-to spot for brunch.

Food: the portion is very sufficient and the seasoning is very nice. They have many signature decorated drinks that you can order to get some pretty pictures. The Hawaii scramble I ordered is very delicious but the portion is a bit big for me with potatoes and a sweet scone.

Service: the staff is very nice and helped us with arranging the time and table.

Parking: It’s the busy Stanford College town, so better be early. They do have a garage behind the building but can be crowded.

We went for tea service. The pastries themselves were definitely old. Pastries that should be crunchy were soft and pastries that should be soft were dry/crunchy. Tea itself is a tea bag (not looseleaf). Inside was uncomfortably hot and stuffy (no AC) and the staff, while nice, was very unattentive. Felt very overpriced for what it was...

Wonderful girlfriend's outing. Great service Ana staff. We asked for if we can see the bubble again for the smoking la la land . The gentlemen who serviced us willingly and pleasantly showed us the techniques, which made our experience even more fulfilling! Sherry

We were a party of 12 , celebrating my cousin who is getting married soon. We had a great time! Food was delicious and our server was amazing. He was on top of it all from taking orders to refilling water to asking if we needed anything. No complaints here.

Get a table inside. Charming ambiance, chandeliers, Instagram wall. Food was OK. Fried Chicken Benedict was tasty. Ricotta pancakes were standard and good. Drinks were expensive-- the matcha latte cost $10 but served in an adorable bear double insulated glass. Noise level was bustling. Nice to try once. This place is very busy for Sunday Brunch, so secure a reservation or else you will be turned away. And make sure your party arrives promptly as they will only seat you when everyone is there. Due to the popularity of Sunday Brunch, there is a 1hr 15 min time limit for dining. Last thing, dress nicely (for Brunch) and for the Instagram wall!

This time my sisters and I went to their themed Beauty and the Beast high tea. It was alright and did not live to the idea of the Instagram post. We assumed it was going to have time slots to pick from and that would be when the restaurant turns into Beauty and the Beast. But it was not the case. The high tea it self was also very lacking as the tea was lukewarm, the scone was good, the cucumber sandwich was good but the rest was disappointing. Most the tea places they provided a good spread between savory and sweet on the tiered plates, this one was overly sweet. Everything besides the sandwiches and scone was overly sweet. Beside it being high tea and the menus being Beauty and the Beast, placing the tiered plate on a box covered in fake roses nothing else was worth an extra charge for lack of execution.
