I had a business dinner with fellow colleagues here this past week. The service was very good and the waiters knew the dishes quite well. I was all up for getting the moussaka but ended up getting the lamb shank as the waiter was pushing that pretty hard. I should have stayed with my first choice of moussaka as the lamb shank was a little bit overdone and it was far too large for me to finish.

We had an amazing pre fixe lunch here. The food was delicious— we especially loved the saganaki and the lamb. Service was great, everyone was kind and attentive. We will definitely be coming back.

The food here is amazing. Price is inexpensive for the quality and taste of the food. We have been coming about once a week after finding this place. What was slightly disappointing today is the response to finding a bug in the drink. When we found an ant encased in the ice that was served with the cocktail (we got the CDMX) and pointed it out, our server initially told us that it is tea. We asked him to take a closer look since it was a tiny ant (~2 mm in size) and when he saw it he said "oh" and took the glass away. The waiter brought us a new cocktail and said "uno mas" (one more).A bug in food or drink is something that can happen at any restaurant and it is not a big deal, especially when it is something small like this (it is a tiny ant and not a cockroach) and encased in ice (it is not even in contact with the food or drink).Thank you for not charging us for the drink. However, +/-$15 doesn't make a big difference. We would have much more appreciated a simple apology or "sorry about that".We did not take a photo, nor did we make a scene in the restaurant as there were many other guests eating and did not wish to ruin their meals.Other than this event, everything else about service has been great all other times and would still recommend the restaurant to my friends and colleagues.

Delicious authentic Greek restaurant. Must visit if you are in the Bay area. This beautiful small place gives a nice authentic Mediterranean vibe. Lovely settings and smart choice of cutlery and serving dishes. Food menu serves everyone's palette with healthy options for veg and non vegetarian guests. Grilled prawns, chicken and lamb are out of the world choices by itself or with salads. Decent portion of choices make a perfect meal. Greek salad is simple combination of fresh tomatoes and feta cheese served with vinaigrette olive oil topped with herbs that give transport you to a Mediterranean islandEnjoyed business lunch but will be visiting here to try more dishes and will write more details. Can't wait to visit this place again soon.Vegetarian options: Decent options for vegetarians. Salads and pita breads with hummus and eggplant dipsParking: Street parking but usually packed during lunch hours.

I am Greek and grew up in Greece. I was originally hesitant to come to Taverna because I often get disappointed with Greek restaurants. Well, not this time. The food was delicious, the service wonderful, and the atmosphere lovely! Try it!

They’ve been getting bad reviews recently for a reason. There seems to be issues with management being able to communicate amongst themselves. They mishandled our communications regarding a large event. Very unfortunate.

Sub par food at very high prices. Really bad value for money. Ok atmosphere.Pushed items and additional charges. Started as a great restaurant and turned into a business with more show than quality.

What a delightful dining experience! It's more than just about the food; it's about the overall enjoyment of dining out. I love visiting restaurants where the servers engage with you through humor, creating a jovial atmosphere. The place is charming with its cozy and rustic decor. Despite the laid-back ambiance, the service remains professional. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and the food was delicious. We started with the tzatziki, accompanied by a visually appealing and flavorful homemade pita bread. Once we finished all the pita, the suggestion to pair the rest of the tzatziki with potato chips was spot-on; these chips were light and airy, unlike any I've had before. The plaki and moussaka main dishes were delicious. I'll definitely be returning to try out other items on their menu.
