Only pro is their scones, everything else from cleanliness to service isn’t very good in my opinion. They also have an odd policy about reservations - they took down my credit card info and charged me as “prepaid” the day of my original reservation when I requested the reservation be shifted about 3 days in advance to an alternate day.

Total disappointment especially for the high price. We had a reservation and it still took 20 mins from being seated to have tea on the table. 30 minutes for any food to be served. The waitress would take 10-15 mins to refill hot water in the tea pots. The food itself was very mediocre. Tea sandwiches were soggy. I would understand lower quality of the price were lower. Skip this and go to Lovejoy’s Tea Room. Much better food and service for a lower price.

Cute tea room with friendly service. We had the November menu and everything was fresh, quality, and delicious. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Our seven year old had a child service and loved his as well. The mango tea was my personal favorite!

We loved hanging out here (we came twice in one afternoon!). It was great having amazing white and green teas and chatting with Tim, the manager, was delightful. It's clear he loves and cares about both tea and his customers. It was very relaxing being here.

This review is for July 23, 2023.My girlfriend and I have a tradition to go to this restaurant because of the convenience of its location as well as the ambience. We love the decor and the whole set up of this establishment whether you are eating indoors or on their outdoor location. We were served by a server named TALYA. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and excited to serve us. This place usually takes reservations and my girlfriend and I happen to pass through as walk-ins. Thankfully, they had the time and we took whatever was on their menu for the day. The food was amazing. I am still always in awe of how tiny the food is and yet you are still able to get full from those foods along with the quality loose leaf brewed tea. We were also surprised to have been greeted by the owner who shared with us that he is Vietnamese by nature but Dutch by birth. He shared with us that his love for life is reflected in the way he prepares his food, and how he prepares the tea. we walked out with full stomachs, smiling faces, and several bags of loose leaf tea for the road. This place is one of the mid peninsula hidden gems. You don't need to go anywhere else but here. Solid service, great food, great atmosphere, wonderful time. We look forward to Going back again very soon!

Such an absolutely delightful and delicious experience at Tea Time! We enjoyed the high tea--so lovely--and the gracious, warm service by the charming Taylia and Tim the owner. The perfect way to celebrate and a wonderful antidote to these stressful times. I will be back for sure!

All last three times we went there was a disappointment. The food was ok but there was less variety than at the Tea place in Los Altos. Every time they were reluctant to give us a table - either it was close to 3pm, or they did not want to give us a seat (although there were free tables) because we had not made a reservation in advance. When I called next time to make a reservation, they asked for my tel number but never called back.

Celiac review! Parking here is TERRIBLE. I arrived an hour early to find parking and ended up almost being late because it took so long to find a spot. I ended up getting the very last spot in Palo Alto garage R, which is about a five minute walk away. That aside, Tea time is very lovely on a sunday afternoon. The outdoors seating is nice with full shade from umbrellas that can be retracted. I was sat indoors with my service dog against the wall, as I had requested over the phone. Classical music played on medium-low volume. The staff and owner (?) were all very friendly and professional. They knew the service dog rules and were very respectful about his space. TEA:I ordered my black currant tea and asked about dairy free milk-- only cows milk or soy milk powder. A little strange but, whatever. I received a small pitcher of whole milk and a significant amount of both brown and white sugar cubes. The black currant tea tasted excellent and was brewed perfectly. That's something you can't always count on at other tea places, so I was really chuffed. The pot yielded 4 small cups. FOODBear in mind that I am celiac and had ordered the afternoon tea ($55) as gluten free ($2 extra). Therefore, some of the offerings I received may be different than those who can eat gluten. My first course arrived about 10 minutes after my tea did. The quiche was very flavorful and cheesy with lots of veggies. The soup was well spiced with veggies. It certainly did taste and look a bit like canned vegetable soup, but it was still good. The salad was simple with fresh tasting lettuce. The second course, a tiered bit, came with one gluten free cranberry scone, clotted cream and lemon curd, three sandwiches (I chose chicken and walnut, cucumber cream cheese, and egg curry), and the top tier had some fruits, a lemon bar, some deli style cheese slices, a brownie, and a chocolate macaron. First the scone. I am so impressed with their gf scone. Crumbly, yes, but tastes and feels like a regular scone. Faintly lemony, comes out warm, good cranberries. The sandwiches were nice-- the chicken one was very fresh and good. There's no mistaking the gf bread-- it was a weird sandwich choice, being a stodgy brown seedy nut bread. And, the egg one was on the heel of the bread, which was strange-- all crust. They aren't stingy with the sandwich toppings, which is important. Despite the brown-ness of the Apple, all of the fruits were very fresh. I would recommend to Tea Time that they spray or brush their apple slices with lime or lemon to avoid future browning. The brownie was a little dark and fudgy for me but a chocolate-lover would like that I think-- I'm just more of a milk chocolate lady. The macaron was similarly dark. The lemon bar was delicate and a bit on the sweet side, still good. In the reviews, some people complained they didn't get $55 worth of food. I don't agree. By the time I was halfway through my second tier of course 2, I was feeling full. SEATING AND STAFFThe chairs looked comfortable but they really need new stuffing-- the back is completely collapsed in, and you can feel every spring in the seat cushion. I asked the waitress if they had a throw pillow I could use and she brought one! Yay. I liked that the waitresses wore identifying aprons but seemed to be allowed to wear whatever outfit they wanted. I prefer it when staff are comfortable. They also both seemed comfortable asking the boss man questions and he was very patient in answering them, from what I witnessed. So it seems staff is treated professionally. WORTH IT?Was it the most amazing food I've ever had? No. But the tea was good, the food was not only nice but it was filling, and the service was very pleasant. I am looking forward to returning. The tea was $63 after tax.HOW IT COMPARESIt isn't the most perfect or classy experience, but you get what you pay for-- I didn't come in expecting something out of this world for $55. Those that prioritize an authentic afternoon tea that pays attention to the little things like keeping fruit fr

Pretty good tea place. Big collection of tea - British rose and Moroccan mint being my favourites. Sufficient place to sit both inside and outside. Really nice staff. They did a pretty good job organising tea party for 10 people. They can also organise vegan or vegetarian set up.

We just moved to the area, and I love tea. We were really excited about trying this place out, but while passing by people with the "fruit plate" "cookie" and "tea sandwiches" I instantly started to doubt this establishment. The cookie was a biscoff, and this is a free item on flights, so it's sad they think this is a "free cookie" worthy addition to a 13.95 dollar pot of tea. Btw you can't share the pot of tea, they were going to charge me for another cup and this extra charge is 13.95, it made no sense, one pot of tea is good for 3 cups but I can't have an extra cup to share with my partner, I don't really want 3 cups of (same) tea lol. This tea is already At minimum 100% marked up, so they can't even offer a homemade or fancier Whole Foods cookie? It's just weird the short cuts they take, like scamming the customers with our eyes wide open. You think I can't see how dry those scones look, or how poor the fruit plate is with a few pieces of store bought sliced fruit, you can't even purchase market fruit and slice it yourself, everyone knows that's a little extra effort for a quality fruit plate. Take some pride in what you serve people especially when the prices are insane. Haha. Just wild out here in Palo Alto. I can't imagine who actually goes here and has money to literally burn. I would say it looks like they have a really wide range and cool selection of teas, but with that being said it seemed like they assume their customer has no knowledge of tea and the costs of tea. Honestly go to China town in SF and you will have sooo many tea tastings that are near free and delicious (if you're looking for just trying cool teas). There's also a lot of high teas in SF that are delish and worth the money. Okay rant over. So Shooketh

loved my experience at Tea Time! my group of 7 was seated indoors & the ambience made it feel intimate/relaxed (kind of like having tea at grandma's)! the servers were also very accommodating & were prompt with all of our food + tea. we chose the High Tea option which was pretty filling--highly reccomend the mango indica, vanilla black, & emperor's seven treasures. great place for dates or small groups!
