The service was great. I was shocked that actually Lamb chops were not on the menu. I did not like that it was so dark. I could barely read the menu. I also didn't like that everything was a la carte. They did have chops, on menu of the night. They were pretty good. Def worth the $55. And the sides were good. I had mac, Brussels & mash. All good. We also had a chocolate soufle. It was soo silky & smooth. Definitely worth saving space. I did like the flowers outside & I also recommend a reservation b/c they seem to be pretty popular. Dinner for 3 was $350.

UPDATE! Our return visit was the complete opposite experience of the one I reviewed earlier. The service was great (thank you Seth!) and my husband and I both thought our steaks were up there on the "best we have ever had" list. Their garlic bread was so good, I wish I had ordered more to take home. Perhaps we had previously gone on an off night. It happens. Based on this experience though, we will definitely be back...and soon. I am getting an extra order of garlic bread too!

Manager Todd (Tadd?) was awesome! He went above and beyond to make sure my family had an unforgettable dinner. Thank you so much. I will definitely continue celebrating special occasions at Arroyo!

SERVICE: The service was great. We were greeted and shown to our table quickly. Our server was professional and knowledgeable about all their dishes. He explained everything clearly including the specials of which I usually only catch 50% of what's being said...but he guided me through like a pro. FOOD: The cowboy rib eye steak was delicious. Cooked very well. Glad I went with the cowboy, it wasn't as large as I imagined it to be. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass which she loved. Not over cooked. Perfect flavor. AMBIENCE: Dimly lit. Romantic yet not too dark. CRITICISM: The TV was tuned into sports. Is a TV really necessary? Not sure why TV is needed at a fine restaurant. Must be a Pasadena thing. The peach "salad" was truly sub par. It's not really a salad but a presentation of peaches with a delicious dressing lightly spread over fruit and plate. The problem was the peaches. They were bruised, hard and not actually in season. I recommend sticking to seasonal fruits. I'm sure the chefs can come up with something better. Had the peaches been in season, the salad would have been delicious! I could taste the potential.

We dinned here last month a gift certificate from a friend. We have been to the Arroyo Chop House at least five times and it has never disappointed. We started with a specialty cocktail. My husband was particularly impressed with his. A house barrel aged whiskey old fashioned served in a chilled martini glass. He had the duck I guess you can tell from past reviews he is a duck fan. But it has to have crispy skin. A home run! I had the pasta Bolognese. Delicious and a huge portion. It could have been split. I took it home and had it for lunch for two days. They have a nice wine selection. I forgot our waiter's name, but he was very attentive and polite. The Arroyo Chop House has a lovely ambiance very classic. We plan to go again. I don't know about a happy hour, but the bar was packed so I will definitely be looking into that.

Did they hire a new chef? I wonder because my Arroyo Chop House steaks were always cooked just the way I like it (rare and medium rare). But last night's ribeye was medium well, not rare per my order. I've relied on ACH when I want to entertain/impress my guests. This steak would be an embarrassment. Before I cut into it I knew something was wrong: It was smaller than my previous ribeyes because it was overcooked. A professional chef experienced with steaks would have known this. So what happened? Note: This order was delivered, not a dine-in. I have had other ACH steaks delivered so this was not a factor. Had I dined at the restaurant I would have sent it back to the kitchen and asked for another.

Finally tried this local steakhouse and faaaak is it delicious. Great ambience, like its own little world in there. Lovely service. Excellent food. And most importantly to me I felt good after, no stomachache and not weighed down! I started with the lobster bisque, and it was one of the best I've ever had. So light and delicate with real lobster. Often times lobster bisque is just a bowl of cream that makes you feel sad and crappy. This was light and flavorful, bright, and perfectly balanced. Not overly filling and not overly salty. I then had the Cesar salad, also perfectly balanced and delicious. Left je wanting more. Lastly, I had the petite fillet with no sides (because it didn't need it.) Shit that was good. I'll be fantasizing about this meal quite a bit.

This steak house never disappoints! Such a great spot, they make celebrations so fun and special. It's definitely my favorite place for a steak. And always save room for desert! It takes 20 minutes, so order it ahead or time. The only thing I didn't love was their cocktails. I liked 1 out of the 3 we ordered.

Been here a couple times for dinner and quality changes every time. First time was for restaurant week and I wasn't impressed but came a 2nd time for a work dinner and I loved it so I suggested this for dinner. We got an early reservation, there is street parking around the corner if you don't want to valet but no one watches your car so it's not 100% safe. We started with cosmos which were good but not the best I've ever tasted. We got the half and half bread which was good, soft inside, crunchy outside. Next time I'll probably just get the sourdough since the other side was kinda greasy and heavy. My steak in some areas were a bit overcooked and the taste was just ok. When I came for work the steak was super soft and cooked perfectly so I'm not sure what happened this time. My lobster was good, but again just good and not amazing. Corn wasn't anything spectacular so I'd skip that and just add my own corn at home. The garlic mash had melting butter on top and was whipped perfectly. Our waiters kept checking in on us so that was nice but we never felt rushed so that was also good but we went for Valentine's Day and the tables around us got a long stemmed rose and we didn't so that was weird. I'd probably try it another time but it's twice now that I thought the food was meh.

Our family just had an incredible experience at this restaurant unlike our last visit. Our waiter Jose was superb. Always there and proving outstanding service. We ordered a steak, fish of the day, several sides and the apple pie. Everything was absolutely delicious. They also timed everything impeccably well. This was a delightful evening in every aspect of our experience. Keep up the good work.

Went with my partner and daughter for Valentine's Day. Other then having to be sent back to be cooked properly, it was tender. We were really dissappionted that it had very little flavor. For a $250 dollar dinner, food wasn't what was hoped for. Won't be back.

Came here for a work dinner and was not disappointed. From the ambiance to the food, everything was impeccable! Service was great -- our waiter constantly checked in on us and gave great recommendations from the menu. I got the fried catfish and was pleasantly surprised! Was definitely not expecting the entire fish to come out! It was so crispy and juicy! I loved it so much that I got it to go a few days later for my family to try! Definitely will be returning!

We decided to dine here for my 60th birthday celebration. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, but you would expect better service for the $$ that it costs. I had to order my drink 3 times for it to finally make it to the table. But they are not stingy on the alcohol. You can actually taste it in the drinks which is a good thing. There were 9 of us Everyone who ordered steak or fish were pleased with their order. And most people liked the sides. We waited what seemed like forever for our food to be served and when it finally came I was soooo disappointed. I ordered the king crab legs which arrived to my table lukewarm and somewhat dry. When the manager came to check on us, he was very gracious in offering to either put it under the broiler to heat it up, or to make a new one. Well it was already dried out so I didn't want it reheated, and it would be 20 mins to have them prepare another one. I didn't want to wait so I ate the cold dried out, salty crab but ti be fair the manager comped it. So I didn't have to pay $110 for it. Overall, I would say that this restaurant does not live up to what I was expecting. I very much prefer the food at the Parkway Grill which their sister restaurant across the parking lot. It was a disappointing experience for almost $900 worth of food. Thumbs down!
