Yesterday it was raining in Pasadena, and while I was running errands, I wanted a warm drink. I went to Corner Bakery. The place was about more than full, and the ambiance was warm and lovely. I wanted to stay but the tables that near the window were full, so I decided to take out. I ordered a chai tea and sourdough bread, but I was disappointed. The chai tea came from a machine and was overly sweet. The sourdough was not fresh and was sliced very thick. The server also had an attitude and gave me the impression that she didn’t enjoy working that day. While I can understand—rainy weather makes you want to stay warm and cozy in front of the TV—it still affected the experience. I hope they work on improving the quality of their food and service. I do like the location and the atmosphere, but the prices are a little high for the quality offered.

When I received my order, it was wrong. The person that took my order Incorrect order didn't apologize. Didn’t tell me how long it was gonna take to get the new order correct no communication there. As it is, it took 15 minutes to wait for sandwich. Then the sane person that took my order never told me how long I was going to wait for the other sandwich. She just grabbed the sandwich. 10 minutes later I had to ask for my new order while management just standing around chitchatting & food was just sitting on the kitchen counter. Will never eat there again.

5 Stars for food, service, and atmosphere. Then why the 3 star rating you ask? Well let me tell you. Cost. The value. Due to higher costs it's getting harder and harder to eat out at establishments like this.
I hope they include value items, or an app reward program if they don't have one already.

Delicious food and good service. Casual cozy vibe. Delicious bacon egg and cheddar croissant served all day. My favorite. Never get the muffins here. Absolutely terrible. Cold dry and every muffin tastes like corn no matter what flavor. Plenty of seating in and outside.

Please be careful if you come here and have food allergies! I am allergic to tree nuts. The person who took my order (who, according to his name tag, was the manager of 6 years) was very unsure and just said “I don’t know, I don’t think so” when I asked if two different pastry items had nuts, and even said “no! no nuts” after staring at the items for a moment. Luckily, I always double check online allergy menus, and when I went to look up the item’s allergen ingredients, it listed that tree nuts were a main ingredient!! If I had eaten the cinnamon roll, I could have had a serious allergic reaction or even ended up in the hospital. Food workers should know what allergens are in their food, ESPECIALLY if they are a general manager. Thank goodness I cross check everything before I eat it. PLEASE double check allergens before eating/purchasing anything here if you have an allergy of any kind!
