Loved our dinner at Dan Modern Chinese in Pasadena! The food was amazing, everything from the dumplings to the noodles was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Our server Eric was awesome, super kind, and made great recommendations. Anthony and the rest of the team were really helpful and made the whole experience even better. Great vibe, great service, and delicious food. We can’t wait to come back!

So good! We had soup dumplings (yum!), fried veg rice, green beans, ox tail soup, and some kind of pork bun. Before you judge me for gluttony, just know that I regret nothing. It has been a long time since I had a meal with so much flavor. I felt like the pricing was fair and worth it. Our server was great and the food was hot. Thank me later.

I typically order takeout, but the restaurant is nice as well. xlb is great, three cup chicken and dan mein (any meat) noodles are also favorites. Pea shoots or snow pea leaves are amazing sides. Fried rice solid. Honestly i haven’t had a dish that wasn’t excellent, and service/staff is friendly and attentive. Can’t go wrong!

The food is amazing! It’s a smidge on the expensive side, but totally worth it. I particularly liked the Dan mein noodles and the veggie fried rice. Both were made to perfection!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We had a reservation and called ahead to see if we could arrive an hour earlier, and they graciously accommodated our request on short notice, which we were very grateful for. The restaurant was clean, and the prices were relatively affordable, especially for the area. My team visited for dinner, and although we ordered a variety of dishes, everyone agreed that the food was excellent and the service was outstanding.

We had an incredible dining experience at Dan Chinese, and a huge part of that was thanks to Eric! From the moment we were seated, Eric went above and beyond with his hospitality and customer service. The dishes were great and were tailored to our taste profile.

Highly recommend visiting Dan Chinese — and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Eric, you’re in for a treat!

Fun and modern atmosphere. Very friendly staff. And incredible gluten free food! I had the best meal here. I ordered the popcorn shrimp, fried rice, the cucumbers and broccoli. Everything was absolutely delicious!

This is the most fresh-tasting delicious Chinese food we’ve found in Pasadena! The soup dumplings are addictive and the light fluffy fried rice is perfect. We usually do takeout but have dined in many times with our kids.

Nice location and friendly staff but unfortunately the food was too sweet for me. it said on the ingredients that it had only soy sauce but tasted Like Teriyaki with a lot of sugar.

I have been coming to Dan modern for a couple years now; it is always delicious and has amazing service. Especially Eric! He is very quick and kind. I highly recommend this establishment.
