Dinas Dumpling was a fantastic find! I tried their beef dumplings while they were in the neighborhood, and they were absolutely delicious, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The dough was soft with just the right amount of chew, and the beef filling was packed with rich, savory flavor. You can tell everything is made with care and fresh ingredients. The staff were super friendly and welcoming too, which made the experience even better.
Ate at Pasadena during the Christmas festival when they turn on all the lights for the block. Though when trying out the food I got the noodles and hands down it was the best noodles I've had.
I grew up in the Bay Area eating what I know as “San Francisco Chinese potstickers” (I’ve never been to China, so I cannot verify these are authentic). They have a much thicker skin than the dumplings I’ve found in LA, especially when compared to Taiwanese restaurants such as Din Tai Fung. I love DTF and have learned to enjoy the thin skinned dumplings, but I’m always still hankering to find thick skin style dumplings that I grew up with—which always came with vinegar...
