German Restaurants near Pasadena, CA

“Very tasty, nice owners. Came right before they closed, so the beef was a little dry, but that’s on me. Sauce and vegetable toppings were great and fresh. The only thing missing to be fully authentically German is getting asked which of the toppings I want in some broken German. Definitely recommend.“

“Last year I spent three months in Europe, seeking out the best frite shops in Belgium and the Netherlands, and had fries and fried potatoes at places that were highly rated specifically for their fries in France, Spain, etc. Altogether, I noted 24 different restaurants, mostly in Belgium and the Netherlands, that we ate at specifically because they were supposed to be the best place for fries in their city. You would assume we'd had the world's best fries at one of those places, right?

I've eaten at wurstküche maybe a dozen times. Each of those times (except for maybe once or twice) the fries have been better than anything we had in Europe. No lie. I've tried to replicate it at home, using every method imaginable...different fats, par-boiled, par-fried, chilled, rinsed, blanched this way and that. I love fries. I've never hit the mark. I don't know what wizardry is at play here, but this wurstküche location has the best fries I've ever had. And that's really saying something. The sausage and beer are okay too.“

Great indoor and outdoor atmoshpere, the chicken schnitzel was delish, TBH the beet salad could have had some more beets, but was still yummy. Didn't take any pics, we were too busy talking lol, but def a great place in Highland Park.“

“An old fashion German Deli !! Flashback to my childhood! Very friendly kind older Lady lets me try some tasty sausages and I found what I was looking for .excellent meat …. Saturday special Bratwurst ..I only can say ..naked sausage on a bun ..don’t be stingy on Mustard and Ketchup Sauerkraut ..even napkins !!! That ruins the experience! Had to ask twice to actually see some Ketchup on my sandwich!!!!“
